I'd like that, Suze, I could use a rest after that. Dorothea did very well talking to people and about her books. Do you think Patti should do a column on that event and how it came out? I think she would do a wonderful job! I did check out the announcement for the FL club in September. I think they had lots of problems with this last book because of the digital mode. There are just some books that really cannot be read on an ereader because of what content they have. With Corrine's book, it was hard to go back and reread passages or chapters. You couldn't keep up with as many characters as she had. He book would have been better as a physical book and she would have received better reviews.

I'm baaackkk,

and I am a hundred and one percent better. No more boot cast. I have a small black brace instead and can wear it inside an enormous sneaker which enters the room about 15 minutes before I do! :smileyvery-happy:

The only problem I am having is that it makes my entire foot swell so I really feel better without it. This too shall pass.

It will take me a few days to catch up, I think, but I wanted to say hello!

Debbie, it's safe to say they'll never be found again. I'm glad you are the Fiction moderator. You have some good choices coming up and I'm ready for August although I haven't read the book yet. I'm still reading Promise Not to Tell.

Hi, twj. Welcome back and glad you moved to a brace. I know how you feel as I had to wear one that was aerated and had to stuff into a big sneaker. And my ankles swelled because it is such a rigid fit and was glad to get it off at night. I only wore it for a couple of weeks to protect my ankle as I did play tennis a while back.

Thanks maxcat, maybe there is where I get all my ideas about hiding bodies etc... ;-)

It will be a pleasure to chat with everyone about Drawing in the Dust. I talked to Rabbi Zoe yesterday and she's just as excited as I am about joining us in August.

For those who don't know we're doing

Well, if you are playing tennis again, you give me hope that my leg will be happy to move properly again...the darn thing is not doing what I tell it to do! I try to look normal when I walk but I am afraid I get F in normal...but then...what's normal? None of us are perfect! Unless...

I will try and be open for a sale but I  can't stand on my foot for too long...maybe I will hire some help! Bill Clinton told me he might be in town...he is trying to stay out of trouble by staying away from journalists and microphones! I hope Hillary comes with him. I might present her with that lovely pink handbag! Perhaps Bill will take Hillary for a spin on one of the cycles!

Tigger, we used to live in Va. Beach in the 70's. We used to go to Sandbridge to enjoy the water there as the beach in Va. Beach was very crowded in the summer. We lived about 6 miles from the shore. We loved it when September came around as it was basically locals there and the boardwalk was empty. We could ride our bikes down it without crashing into somebody. Va. Beach is probably quite built up now and I'm going to remember as it was.

Um yeah. I grew up messing around the NC coasts but visited VA beach as a kid. I remember it was dead off season, and the sand was darker than around Wilmington. Now the city Virgina Beach is apparently THE largest per capita in VA. Everyone moved to the beach while I wasn't looking. :smileysurprised:

Twj, What does a potcake look like? I honestly never heard the name before.

You cook it in a flower pot. The ceramic makes for a moist cake. A few restaurants around here make them.

Well .....that if Twj is talking about the same thing.

I've had dirt cake in a flower pot before. It's ice cream and crushed oreos with gummy worms Delicious! My mom makes birthday cakes for us every year but she refuses to make dirt cake for me saying it's not cake it's just ice cream in a pot. I tell her, "exactly, just go out to your garden shed and grab a flower pot your half way there!" She doesn't find it amusing lol. Kayla

(chuckle) That sound cute. I made a bleeding alien cake for a 6 year old once. All the kids loved it, all the adults looked sick. Explaining it was just cherry custard sooo didn't comfort them.
