It's kind of a memoir, but it's so much more. I've been to Paris a few times, and she makes me want to go back again and see it through her eyes. I went out today and bought a copy for my mom - I think she'll love it as much as I did!

becke_davis, Well, we are under a winter storm watch. We could get 8 inches of snow or more from tonight until Tues.
This is April, we should not have snow now. It is spring.
I am praying that we don't get snow. I was putting away my winter clothes. I guess I will have to leave my boots out. Man, this is ridculous.

Good grief! I'm in Chicago, where it is sunny but chilly today. The day we arrived it was 45 with COLD winds. Stay warm!

becke_davis, I know, the snow is here. I am not sure how much we are going to get. It could be over 8 inches.
Happy Birthday, It is your birthday today, right? Hope you have a great day.
No schools closed yet but that may change later today. They usually don't close unless it gets really bad.
So have a great day and enjoy your birthday.
Come by the B & B for a free lunch. Any one who comes in on their birthday can get a free lunch or dinner. We just started this. So let us know when you birthday is and we will give you a free lunch or dinner and a cupcake.

Happy birthday, Becke, hope it will be a fun day for you. It is cold here also. Saturday, it was 84 with our a/c running. Sunday, it was 54 and the heat was on. Today, it is windy and cloudy and 44 degrees. No snow however. It is supposed to be near freezing tonight though.

Jim, cold here too. Last gasp of winter I guess. The winter we did not have. Mosquitoes were out Saturday.

Patti - Thanks for the birthday wishes! My husband reminded me that back when we lived in New Jersey, there was a blizzard on my birthday. I think that was in 1985. Here in Chicago it was chilly enough for a jacket, but not as cold as it was over the weekend.

Becke, I had a similar birthday when the blizzard of 1993 went up the eastern seaboard. It snowed 50 inches on Mt. Mitchell, which is the highest mountain this side of the Rockies. We only had 5 inches but the wind was very strong and since it was the weekend of the hamfest, the convention center shut down early and we had to find our car in the blowing snow and we had to pick up our daughter, who was working at the time. It was treacherous at times.

maxcat, I think Somerset got between 5 to 8 inches. One ski resort got a foot. It was cold and slushy. The snow is pretty much gone now. We are back into the fifities today and rest of the week and may get into the sixties next week.
It was strange to say the least.
Had a really great book club. We discussed the book Sarah's Key. What a sad story but very revealing about what happened during World War II in France. We all enjoyed the book a lot. We will be reading The Hound of the Baskervilles for May.
Talk to you soon.

Hi - I'm heading to the Malice Domestic conference tomorrow (EARLY!!) with my friend Duffy Brown. We won't get there until dinner time most likely, since it's a nine hour drive from Cincinnati.
If you're at Malice, look for Duffy and me!
I'm probably going to leave my computer at home, since conferences tend to be pretty hectic. I'll be back Sunday night - LATE! - so I may not get Katherine Hall Page's introduction up until early Monday morning. Depends what time we get back.
I'll be around today, and then off computer until Monday morning. Don't hold too many wild parties while I'm gone!!

maxcat, Well, we are going to get back into the sixties and seventies this week with some possible thunderstorms. Pop up kind.
But at least it is not snow. I really hope that it is over with. I will love the warmer weather and the sun.
I am good. Must get ready for work. Other than that I am reading, cross stitching as usual.
I had to get a flapper for my toilet. I got that fixed. I was not waiting for my landlord and will take the cost off my rent.
Talk to you soon.
We at the B & B will be planning our Memorial Day celebration.

Hi everyone - hope you had a great weekend! I had a fabulous time at Malice Domestic. It's such a fun conference! I'm going to start a separate thread about it and post pictures there.
I'm also going to start a few new threads. I got several ideas while I was at Malice!
