Guest blog threads are optional, since the authors don't always stay to visit.

I mailed out the May Got Books? shipments today - they went out a bit later than usual since I was out of town. The packages aren't quite as big as usual, partly because I didn't schedule any guests for the last week of May and partly because I depleted my stocks a bit with donations to Brenda Novak's auction and Lori Foster's fundraising raffle. Don't worry, you all got a mix of old and new AND I'm already building up quite a collection for next month. Let me know when your packages arrive - I've been using those plastic mailing envelopes because I keep running out of boxes, but I worry about them arriving safely.

Eadie - I loaded up on bookmarks and book-related goodies at Lori Foster's event. I'll be rationing those out so I can share them with you all throughout the year. I'm not sure I'll get to any other conferences this year. I'm trying to focus on writing instead, although it's a tough choice!

Thank you, becke. Got my package yesterday. It was a nice combination of new and old mysteries. I was pleased to get the Riley Adams book AND the Dashiell Hammett! I went through a period in college where I read ALL the Hammett books that were in the library--even some of his lesser-known "Continental Op" books. There was even a pretty decent television version of "The Dain Curse," back in the 1970's, I believe. Of course, most people are most familiar with The Maltese Falcon, but Dashiell Hammett wrote many other first rate mysteries. So I'm reallly thrilled with that book you sent.
