Got More Books today!!!  Thanks, Becke!!!  More Saint by Charteris, more Dorothy Eden, and an omnibus with three more Charlotte Armstrongs!  And I've never heard of the Judy Bolton series by Margaret Sutton (old book), so that should be interesting!  And, of course, all the extra goodies - I got all that you mentioned.  The magnets are cool, and the bookmark that's also a ruler!

Always happy to help out with your house emptying!!! :catwink:

Thank you all for giving my books good homes!

Becke:

Received another package of books yesterday. Once again, the selection was great! Some old and some new! Thanks again! Love all the bookmarks, I place them all over the house and they are very handy since I am constantly carrying my book from room to room.

Re: Got Books?

I'm glad the books are arriving safely - I always worry the packages will fall apart from the weight of the books!

BTW, don't forget these are an incentive for commenting on our visiting author threads! Two authors are hanging out with us this week - Ruth Harris and Lou Berney. Stop by and say hi if you get a chance! Thank you!

Re: Got Books?

I go my package yesterday and I'm super excited.  I've never heard of most of the authors before but a few sound like they are on the gothic side, so I can't wait to read them.

Thanks!

Re: Got Books?

Oh, becke, when my Dad and I pulled into our driveway yesterday evening after spending the day visiting Mom at the hospital, it was so wonderful to spot your package right by our  front doorway(apparently the Mail Carrier had placed it there). That was such a great surprise and spirit lifter! I can't adequately put into words how much that meant to me.

You know me too well-- I can hardly wait to get to the Krista Davis book, and finding the PG Wodehouse book brought a big smile to my face. Of course, the piece de resistance was the Louise Penny hardcover book. Wow! Thank you so much! I'm verklempt!

I'm so glad the package cheered you up! I know this is a rough time for you. A few of you got Louise Penny books - I love them dearly, but I just can't keep all the books I love when we move. I hope you enjoy them!

Re: Got Books?

Hi everyone! I've already sent out the Got Books? shipment for this month - it went out very early, as you may recall.

BUT I have another big stack of books accumulating and I'd like to send them out before I move.

Soooo...

IF you post comments on the visiting author and guest blog threads, I'll send you more books at the end of the week. As always, it will be a mix of old and new (or newish) books.

Lately I've been sending books to everyone who participates regularly, whether you post on author threads or not. But for this bonus batch your name will need to show up on the featured threads when I search them later in the week.

Thanks for being part of the Mystery Forum family!

Re: Got Books?

Thanks, Becke. I received my Got Books today and I love that you sent the new Tana French novel. I have all of her other ones and was in the process of starting to read In the Woods. So far, it's good. Thanks also for the bookmarks and magnets and mint. One can never have enough bookmarks!

Re: Got Books?

becke, my Got Books? package came today! I was looking out the  front window  and saw the mailman at our mailbox. I had to run to the restroom, so by the time I got to the front door to go out to the mailbox, I saw that he had brought the package and all the other mail and left it right in front of our door. It was lunch time, so  my mom and I ate the lunch I had prepared for us while the package was sitting by my chair. Oh, what fun when I finally got to open it! Looks like Elizabeth George has a new series starting with The Edge of Nowhere,

The Edge of Nowhere

and there's Swann Dives In, which is part of the Henry Swann series by Charles Salzburg, which are new to me,

and The Keeper of Lost Causes by Jussi Adler-Olsen.

The Keeper of Lost Causes

Two paperbacks,When the Cookie Crumbles by Virginia Lowell(Loved her Cookie Dough or Die!)

When the Cookie Crumbles (Cookie Cutter Shop Mystery Series #3)

and Sour Apples by Sheila Connolly.

Sour Apples (Orchard Series #6)

Then a wonderful older book by Paul Gallico, Flowers for Mrs. Harris. After thumbing through the book, I think that this book is the print basis for that wonderful teledrama, "Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris," starring Angela Lansbury and Diana Rigg.!!!!!

Then the Mystery Scene Magazine, postcards, crossword puzzle,  and bookmarks! Thanks so much, becke!

Oh, I'm glad I made a good choice!

This was a bonus shipment for those of you who commented on the guest blogs and author threads in August. I sent out five packages this time.

I love everything Paul Gallico wrote - I used to have all of his books but I've gradually passed them on to friends. Enjoy!
