Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Re: Additions to the February schedule for the Mystery Forum

LRK 20th

Laurie R. King is turning 20!

…as a writer, that is.

On February 2, 1993, her career as a writer began with the publication of:

A Grave Talent

Now, twenty-one books later, we’re dedicating a springtime of thanks to libraries, with ten weeks of library-related events.  From early February to April’s National Library Week, we’ll be doing:

* Live events in California and Washington libraries—including a Book Club on a Ferry!

* Skype events with library book groups (see below)

* Weekly giveaways of LRK Book Club-in-a-box (sign up your favorite library to winhere)

A free reader’s guide to A Grave Talent — click here to download.

* And as a fund-raiser for California’s Center for the Book, we’re auctioning off a first edition Grave Talentthat Margaret Maron owned, and gave to Laurie for the purpose.  Two award-winning, library-loving writers in one! (If you don’t already receive the LRK newsletter, sign up to get a reminder of the auction here.)

Along with the following events (for details see the Where’s Laurie page):

* Santa Clara CA (Feb 4)
Vacaville, CA (Feb 26)
San Mateo, CA (March 10)
* The Pacific Northwest LRK Extravaganza (March 14 & 15):
The Ferry Book Club (yes, a book club on a ferry—      wheee!)
Bremerton
Poulsbo
* Seattle (details TBA)
Walnut Creek, CA (March 23)
* Skype Library Events with:
Door County, WI Library (Feb 12)
* North Royalton/Cuyahoga, OH Library (April 4)
* Tea with Laurie—auctioned at the Pacific Grove, CA Library (April 13)

Laurie loves libraries!

Re: Additions to the February schedule for the Mystery Forum

I'm still waiting for confirmations from the authors I invited as this weeks' guests. I normally post the featured author introductions on Sunday evening, but I'll have to wait until tomorrow.

Happy Easter, everyone! My daughter is here for the week so I'm VERY happy!
