Historical or cold case mysteries?

and I liked the one book I read on the Temperance Brennan series, but must admit that having watched the "Bones" series for years before I read the book, I was all out of sorts with who this person was. (Maybe now that the TV charactor is have a baby girl, I can go back and imagine this is like Bones  mega years later, with a grown daughter and Booth died or something, and she no longer works at the Institute.)..

Death Du Jour (Temperance Brennan Series #2)

I also like the historical ones like the Murdoch Mysteries series.

Thanks, the one about america's first serial killer from the worlds fair is of definate interest to me. I have read about him. I lived for about 10 years in the Chicago area where the murders took place, and currently live in New Hampshire, where he was born & raised.

I HIGHLY recommend THE DEVIL IN THE WHITE CITY. Another book based on the same real life murders is also really good:
