Re: Karen Rose's Vartanian Trilogy: DIE FOR ME discussion, SPOILERS ALLOWED

This book was horrifying because of the graphic violence and torture themes, but I was able to separate myself from it enough to want to read more.  It made me think of visits to the Tower of London and other castles in England and France, where they had medieval weapons on display.  After reading this book, I have no desire to revisit any of those displays!

Becke-this was my first book of Karen's and I swear it kept me up until 4am! Talk about intense. LOL. The way she mixed the medieval elements with the contemp. setting was just masterful.

Although I will say that it took me quite a while to let my son play video games again. :smileywink:

I was in Florida last week -- not exactly on vacation (visiting my daughter and a seriously ill relative), but still, I had people to see and things to do.  I hadn't read this trilogy so I brought it with me.  Talk about losing sleep!  I read Die for Me on the long drive there (except when we were skidding through snow in Atlanta) but I only had time to read the other two at night.  And then I carried them with me during the day (and Kill for Me is HEAVY), so I could read them any chance I got.  They are truly addictive, and scary as all get out!

I am reading "Die for me" and really am enjoying it. I am about a hundred pages into it and the s toryline and the characters seem to be alot easier to keep in mind.  I am lovin' it!

I'll warn you: Karen's books are addictive.  I've read five of them in the past few weeks, and keep adding more to my TBR pile.  And my daughter wants them all when I'm done!

They're good and all, but I like her Chicago books (Don't Tell, I'm Watching You, Nothing to Fear, You Can't Hide and Count to Ten) much, much more.
