Becke, I am wildly envious that you are in Orlando...Lois, it's been so much fun hanging out with you over the past few days! Happy that your earlier books will be available in e-book form, you will have even more happy fans! Wishing everyone a great 2011.
Thanks so much, Mary! It's always fun cyber-chatting with you. I hope we'll finally get to meet at the LSFW conference in March.

becke_davis wrote:Do authors usually try to reclaim the rights to their earlier books, or do you think this is going to be a new trend with the advent of ebooks? I was able to find used copies of your older books, but of course that doesn't make any money for you.
When your books become available as ebooks, let me know and I'll add those links to this thread. (Or you can add them - go to Add Product and click "ebooks.")
Becke, it's always to an author's benefit to reclaim her rights because she can then sell them elsewhere. With the advent of e-books, this is becoming even more so because many authors can now make their out-of-print books available to readers even if they aren't successful in reselling the rights to another publisher.
I'll certainly let you know when TALK GERTIE TO ME and LOVE, LIES AND A DOUBLE SHOT OF DECEPTION become available as e-books. I don't know what the hold-up is with TALK GERTIE TO ME. It should have happened already, and I have to look into that.
With LOVE, LIES the problem is tied to what's going on with Dorchester and their financial troubles. Many other authors are having the same problem, unfortunately.

Happy New Year to all! Well, having had my fill of football today, I picked up a copy of "Assault With a Deadly Glue Gun". I really didn't know what to expect except some humor, crafts, with some mystery thrown in. I read the whole book today, and I was surprised at the end. I kind-of thought I new "who did it" but I was glad it really wasn't confirmed until the end. I dislike mysteries that reveal too much in the beginning and the ending is no surprise. AND, Zachary intrigues me. Kudos to you Lois!
I think I'm going to go make the denim placemat now

My blog tour continues today over at Type M4 Murder where I'm talking about arguing with the pain-in-the-butt voice in my head (otherwise known as Anastasia Pollack) who refused to do what she was told AFTER my editor had approved the plot of Book 2. Find out who won at http://www.typeM4murder.blogspot.com

The problems at Dorchester are a nightmare for a lot of authors I know. It's really sad.
Lois, thank you so much for being a wonderful guest! I hope you'll keep visiting with us in 2011!
