Re: A review of The Inquisitor's key

Hi, all -- Jon Jefferson (the "writer" half of Jefferson Bass); just landed in Miami, after a bunch of events in TN, GA, & AL. Thanks for the hospitality; hope you'll check out "Inquisitor's Key" and also the e-story  for Nook, "Madonna and Corpse" -- a prequel starring the French detective whose path is about to cross that of our forensic sleuths in Avignon, France. Sorry to be late to this party; I'll scroll down the posts and respond as swiftly as I can!

Re: Two for One: Please Welcome Author(s) JEFFERSON BASS!

Fricka, that picture - of my pal Mr. Bones - came from the Jefferson Bass Books page on Facebook. Dr. Bass and I are starting to get jealous of Mr. Bones, because anytime I post a picture of him going about his many activities - reading, riding in the Prius, eating ice cream, playing ping-pong - he gets LOTS more likes than we do! Oh, fickle, fickle Fame...

Hi Jon - Sorry, I was away from my computer for a bit. Your "author" tag should show up shortly.

I just downloaded "Madonna and Corpse" - thanks for the heads up!

Thanks for clarifying, Jon I wondered if he might be friends with the skeleton who regularly appears on the Craig Ferguson show:

Re: The Body Farm books (fiction): e-original prequel, "Madonna and Corpse"

There's an e-original prequel to The Inquisitor's Key available on Nook for just 99 cents (the cost of a candy bar - what a deal! - and it won't cause tooth decay, or flesh decay, for that matter!).

Jon, Jeremy Cesarec (my supervisor here) asked me to say hi - he used to work for your acquiring editor, Sarah, who once visited the Body Farm!

Re: A review of The Inquisitor's key

I love Chris Scott's kind review of The Inquisitor's Key, which he posted on the  Humanities Tennessee website, Chapter16.org. Check out their great site, which is brimming with reviews, features, essays, poems!

Re: Two for One: Please Welcome Author(s) JEFFERSON BASS!

You're not the only one crying about the Scottsdale book signing: My flight from TN was circling, circling, circling above Phoenix; we circled until the plane ran low on fuel, then diverted to Las Vegas (!) to gas up. I finally landed in Phoenix just in time to catch the redeye back to Atlanta for the following day's event. Wahh indeed!

Re: Two for One: Please Welcome Author(s) JEFFERSON BASS!

Thanks, MaxCat & EadieBurke (& Becke) for the upturned thumbs! The Inquisitor's Key was addictive for me, too - I LOVED hanging out in Avignon: 21st-century Avignon and also 14th-century Avignon. What a spectacular tapestry of art, literature, political power, and intrigue. A heretic-obessed Inquisitor (who tortures and burns his way all the way up the papal ladder), a missing theologian, a heartbroken poet, a brilliant painter, the mysterious Shroud of Turin, an ambitious archaeoligist, a bloodthirsty televangelist: I loved 'em all!

Will the next book be back at the Body Farm, or do you have more out-of-Tennessee stories planned?

Jon - How did the idea for the Body Farm mysteries come about? Were you already friends with Dr. Bass back then?

LOL!! I'm thinking though, that you could make more money by having merchandise, like T-Shirts, and buttons, with Mr. Bones' image on them. They could either be available at your book signings, or through your web page. I for one would love to have a button and/or T-Shirt that showed Mr. Bones reading. Of course, you'd want to make sure that the Jefferson Bass name was included!
