Re: What are you reading now?

Nat - if you'd like to comment on either of those previously featured books, just search the title. You can reopen old threads any time.

I really liked those books by Carol O'Connell. I haven't read the latest ones but I've read at least the first four.

Mallory's Oracle (Kathleen Mallory Series #1)

The Man Who Cast Two Shadows (Kathleen Mallory Series #2)

Killing Critics (Kathleen Mallory Series #3)

Stone Angel (Kathleen Mallory Series #4)

Re: What are you reading now?

I'm just starting on a book I picked up from a store in the mall for a dollar.  So far I'm really enjoying it.

By the way I was just curious to know why there are two "what are you reading" threads on here?  It gets king of confusing sometimes.

Re: What are you reading now?

I finished Dracula last night, so I am ready to start on Cat Among the Pigeons for the Masterpiece Mystery tie-in!  I'm looking forward to seeing that on Sunday!

Anyone can start a thread, Ryan, and someone started the duplicate thread, not realizing there already was one. Rather than delete the other thread, I let it go. A thread only stays active when people continue to post on it, so I've been trying to keep one thread "live" and let the other one fade away. Isn't working too well yet.

That cover intrigues me. If you think of it, come back and give us your feedback on this book. I don't recall seeing it before.

Re: What are you reading now?

Finished 'Whispers of the Dead', & taking a "mystery" break by reading FOOD, INC., which really makes you not want to eat anything unless you've grown it/raised it yourself!  Next non-fiction I read will be a mystery, instead, like the search for the tomb of Alexander the Great or what happened to Judge Crater.

I think my son is reading Food, Inc. I've read a review of it which made me think, if I read it, I might never want to eat again.

Re: What are you reading now?

The Night Gardener  I'm about 1/3 of the way into it. Very good so far and a new to me author but I think I would read anything else he has written.

It seems to me I've read something by this author. I'll have to check this out -- love the title.

I have read both Drama City and Hell to pay by this author and liked them both. The Night Gardener in my TBR pile as well.

Re: What are you reading now?

I was wondering if anyone had read anything by Meg Gardiner?  She has two series going right now. They both look pretty interesting but I was wondering if anyone had read them and can tell me which one to start with or if they liked them or not.

China Lake

This is the first book in her Evan Delaney series

The Dirty Secrets Club

This is the first book in her second series about Jo Beckett who is a Forensic Psychiatrist.

I've read China Lake and it was excellent. I haven't read the new one yet, but I'm sure will eventually.

Re: What are you reading now?

 I just stared:

The Neighbor

I am a great fan of the scary Ms. Gardner and as I expected the hair started standing up on my arms on the first page.

I once made a comment on a review I did for one of her books about her husband sleeping with one eye opened and she actually used it on one of her video interviews.

I was introduced to her with her first thriller The Perfect Husband and even after all the other books I've read I can still see some of those scenes in my head. If you've never read her and love to be scared out of your mind. Pick her up.

Re: What are you reading now?

Debbie - I'm a Lisa Gardner fan, too -- have been for awhile.

I'm reading this book, which I retrieved from my TBR pile. I've read all the others in this series, too.

Re: What are you reading now?

Thank you Becke,

I'm going to try to keep up with more of my clubs reading schedule after summer. These look especially good and authors that are new to me. As you know that's a combination that I find hard to resist.

Re: What are you reading now?

Shannon McKenna has a new one coming out this summer that I KNOW you will like!

Tasting Fear

And Hank Phillippi-Ryan, who visits this board regularly, is an investigative journalist for a TV station in Boston, so she really knows her subject. She has two other books coming out soon.
