Ghost a la Mode by Sue Ann Jaffarian: Book Cover
Ghost a la Mode
 by Sue Ann Jaffarian
I enjoyed reading Murder in Vein by Ms. Jaffarian so much, I decided to try out one of her other books. This book is the first in a series that features Emma Whitehouse, who finds after attending a seance with a friend, that she not only can hear spirits of the dead, she can see them, too. The ghost in the story is nicknamed Granny Apples, after her ability to bake delicious  apple pies. However, Granny's husband was murdered, and she herself was accused of being the murderess, and hanged by vigilantes. She's come to Emma, her great- something grand-daughter, to get Emma to clear her name. Most of the action takes place in Julian, California, a small town famed for its apples. After reading this book, I'd love to take a vacation there myself sometime(sans the murders, of course!:smileywink:)

Re: What are you reading right now?

What a great collection of books we're all reading! I finished one of Lillian's books, and it was very scary - in part, because I could see it happening in real life. It was very intense, so I think before I move on to her new book, I'm going to go for something light; It's been in my TBR pile for awhile, and I really liked all her other books:

Dog on It (Chet and Bernie Series #1)  After hearing how much you guys loved this book. I went and bought it, then stuck it deep into my TBR pile. It surfaced this morning after I finally ran out of Joanne Fluke paperbacks.

Delightful book, thanks guys!

I am just about to finish Sharyn McCrumb "The Windsor Knot".  Quick moving with several entertaining sub-plots.  A good end of the summer book.
