Jekyl Island Club . My mother gave it to me for Christmas; when she was recently in Georgia, she went into a bookstore and asked for mysteries with Georgia settings, which I thought was a nice idea. This one concerns a shooting at an elite club on a private island frequented by the likes of J.P. Morgan and other millionaires; takes place in 1899.
What a great idea!
When I moved to Cincinnati, one of the first things I did was to look up local authors and check out their books. LOTS of romance authors live around here, and some good mystery authors, too. I'll post them in a separate comment.
I just reviewed for Viking an amazing new novel, part one of a trilogy, an epic literary compilation of genres it will appeal to mystery, romance, fantasy oh heck all fans

That's what I thought, too...then I read the first book. It's interesting the way the author reveals bits and pieces about the Arnot case and the recurring characters in every book, so we're always learning a little more.
I was really hoping to read Tara Janzen's long-awaited new release today, but mine hasn't come yet. And when I ran out to the local bookstore to buy a copy, they had just sold the last one! I'm so impatient!
