Curious about which $5 NOOKbooks are selling the most?

[ Edited ]

Here's a search that brings up the $5 NOOKbook sale titles, sorted with the bestselling at the top: http://productsearch.barnesandnoble.com/search/results.aspx?STORE=EBOOK&FMT=EP&AREF=1533&PRC=5-5&SZE...

Note: Summer at Willow Lake is missing from the list until B&N gets their search database updated — it should be around #30 somewhere. There are also three PubIt! titles that appear at the very end of the list.

At the moment, the top-sellers are:

  1. The Other Daughter, Lisa Gardner
  2. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Stieg Larsson
  3. The Girl Who Played with Fire, Stieg Larsson
  4. Water for Elephants, Sara Gruen
  5. The Hunger Games, Suzanne Collins
  6. The Perfect Husband, Lisa Gardner
  7. Public Secrets, Nora Roberts
  8. Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet, Jamie Ford
  9. Cutting for Stone, Abraham Vergese
  10. Fallen, Lauren Kate

Re: $5 NOOKbook sale

The Fixer

Ninja

This Time of Night

The Invoker

The Destructor

The Syndicate

Vicarious

Interlude

The Brank of Khosadam

Red Tide

Rudolf The Red Nosed Rogue

The Price of a Good Drink

The Courier

I did not see these ones by Jon F. Merz listed. They are all $2.99 or less. The Kensei (which I did not list here) is priced right below $10 and it is well worth the money. Most of these titles including The Kensei are part of the Lawson Vampire Series.

That's because they aren't part of the $5 NOOKbook sale. The $5 NOOKbook sale is a selection of Big Name NOOKbooks from the big publishers — NOOKbooks that are normally priced above $5, but are on sale at $5.

Re: $5 NOOKbook sale

Here is a linkk to some books by Jon F. Merz that are well below $5.00. Some are only $2.99 or even some short stories are only $.99

Re: $5 NOOKbook sale

Considering that Merz is self-published and looking at the posting histories of the promoters, I suspect there is a publicity campaign going on.

For some unknown reason that is NOT something that I'm even occasionally called... I can't figure out why, though... :smileytongue:

I got that idea, too. :smileyhappy:

To be fair, while he is self-published now, he did at least publish novels with Pinnacle, and he did several of those Alex Archer books for Gold Eagle (the men's adventure subsidiary of Harlequin). So he has published in print with some big name publishers. It looks like another midlist author who is trying self-publishing. But the mysterious posts from fans come across as too suspicious.

$5 NOOKbook sale - The best bargains

A few more titles showed up at $5, but their list price is $6.50. This posting was already at the maximum size that the board allows, so there was no room to add them. It occurred to me that $5 is probably a normal "discount price" for a $6.50 NOOKbook, not a sale price, and there were already a number of $6.50 titles on the list.

Going a bit overboard, I've stripped all of the titles out of this list that don't have a list price of at least $7.99. I've also marked the titles that have a list price more than $9.99 in BOLD. A few of those still aren't really big deals: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo can be bought for a smidgen less than $5 at some independent e-book stores, and The Girl Who Played with Fire is usually $5 or so.
