This is an excellent book. I just finished reading it. The author is not African American. I am currently in a bookclub and our primary focus are books written by African American, but I read books by authors from all walks of life.

If you enjoy contemporary women's fiction and romance, take a look at my books.
As you can see, I love old school R&B.
Right now, Hot Fun is on sale for 99 cents!
Thanks for checking them out.

Hello daquietstom, I have recently read 2 books by a new aurthor named David Weaver. His first titled noval is "Bankroll Squad" really good read. It's about a click of freinds who started there own cartel and the trouble that comes along. And the second is a short story called "A Love Story" now this book had me. It about a womanizer who gets lost in his own games and bad cards that he was dealt. I read Bankroll Squad from amazon but I used nook for A Love Story. Hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

I recommend "The Personal History of Rachel Dupree". It's a novel about Black ranching family in the early 20th century. Loved it!

BJ is one of my favorite authors. One of the things I love about her historicals is that she bases everything on facts from our history, and she puts the research at the back of the book! I've learned so much from her stories.

If you like romance novels, the Kimani romance series are usually pretty good, there are 4 new books every month. Some of the authors are pretty good.

Cane River and Red River. They were awesome and I could not put them down!!! Read them both in the course of a weekend--of course, that was all I did that weekend!!!
I am so glad to know that Lalita Tademy wrote another book! I loved Cane River, it is one of those books that stays with you. I read it many years ago, and loved it. It is one of the DTB/s that I will always keep. I am an ebook only reader now, but with some books you have to make an exception.
