I've read several books in this series. Actually, I found out about this series by asking a Barnes & Noble employee who worked at the help desk at one of my local B&N stores. I really enjoyed the book and have read several others in the series.
I learned a lot about the Jewish faith and was inspired by Rina's deep faith and eventually by Peter's growing into it. Although, I am not Jewish I still enjoyed learned more about it. It's a nice story within the detective story.
