The characters in The Tea Series are people you'd like to know and part of a family that welcomes you with open arms. More than 100,000 copies of the books in this series have been sold. You will find that each book in the series is a fast and fun read. Each installment of the series is a hybrid of the traditional novel and the serial novel (each is a full-length novel and leads directly into the next installment, the books should be read in order.) Each book is just 99 cents.
Hot Tea Cara O'Flynn finds herself in an unusual position. She's quit her job and can afford to take a few weeks to find a new career. The problem - Cara didn’t plan for three careers in as many days, nor did she anticipate the new guys that dropped in her lap. And then there's her sister Teagan, while always helpful and funny, she can be a bit annoying at times.
Sweet Tea - Cara and Teagan are dealing with wishes come true. The good news is that each of them has found the man of her dreams, unfortunately this is not news easily broken to their traditional mother. Further complicating their lives, they find themselves in the middle of a serial murder investigation; worse still, Cara may have come to the attention of the murderer.
Iced Tea - Cara and Teagan are dealing with wishes gone awry. The serial murderer, if there is one, is still out there. The new guys are supportive, as is the family, but there is a limit to how involved Cara and Teagan want the people they love most to be. Life has been spinning out of control for some time and now it's up to Cara and Teagan to put it to rights.
Green Tea finds Cara and Teagan more determined than ever, but determination without focus doesn't get you very far. There's a wedding just days away. A time to celebrate and enjoy family and tradition, but Cara keeps her distance as situations outside of her control threaten her in ways she is just beginning to recognize.
Peppermint Tea - With complications swirling around Cara and Teagan, a cruise to Alaska might be just the opportunity they were looking for to calm things down and reconnect. They didn’t count on things changing so much while they were gone. One bad guy out of jail, another unaccounted for. Cara has always counted on Teagan to walk with her through the good and bad parts of life, but even that seems to be changing…
Tea to Go - Things are changing and Cara is reminded that not all change is good. Domestic violence has never been a factor in the O'Flynn family. Until now. With Teagan away and one complication after the next raining down on Cara, the importance of family has never been more clear.
Summer Tea Cara has lost count of which three she's in. She's pretty sure the pregnancy three ended with Jovana's daughter-in-law becoming pregnant. Not sure where she stands in the mystery count. But it's a whole other count that she's worried about. One of life’s biggest lessons is perspective. Your perspective can change in a heartbeat. Cara is learning that life lesson the hard way.
-- or --
The First Four - The Tea Series - All four books, in order, at a discounted price of just $3.59.
-- or for something very different --
Consequences On sale for just $2.99 - Nora McCarthy joyfully lost herself in two things -her kids and her husband. Her kids included a hodgepodge of young people that found their way to her when they needed more than anyone else was willing to provide.
Jennifer was a child needing help. Help only Nora was willing to provide. For more than a decade Jennifer bounced between her biological family and Nora
For the second time in as many weeks Nora is surrounded by cops. Nora has done all the right things for all the right reasons and it might just cost her everything.
Thanks!
Sheila

I've had my eye on this mystery ever since it was nominated for an Edgar award about two years ago (nominated for best first novel, although it didn't win the category). It's usually priced around $11.99, so I was very pleased to see it sale-priced at $3.99 — I had to snap it up right away:
Starvation Lake (Starvation Lake Series #1) by Bryan Gruley (Touchstone, 2009, currently on sale for $3.99)
In the dead of a Michigan winter, pieces of a snowmobile wash up near the crumbling, small town of Starvation Lake — the same snowmobile that went down with Starvation's legendary hockey coach years earlier. But everybody knows Coach Blackburn's accident happened five miles away on a different lake. As rumors buzz about mysterious underground tunnels, the evidence from the snowmobile says one thing: murder.
Gus Carpenter, editor of the local newspaper, has recently returned to Starvation after a failed attempt to make it big at the Detroit Times. In his youth, Gus was the goalie who let a state championship get away, crushing Coach's dreams and earning the town's enmity. Now he's investigating the murder of his former coach. But even more unsettling to Gus are the holes in the town's past and the gnawing suspicion that those holes may conceal some dark and disturbing secrets secrets that some of the people closest to him may have killed to keep.

The Physician - Currently $2.99
Read by millions in thirty-two countries, soon to be a major motion picture, and voted “one of the ten most-beloved books of all time,” here is the first English-language digital edition of Noah Gordon’s masterwork
In eleventh-century London, a child holds the hand of his dying mother and is terrified, awaresomething is taking her. Orphaned and given to an itinerant barber-surgeon, Rob Cole becomes a fast-talking swindler, peddling a worthless medicine. But as he matures, his strange gift—an acute sensitivity to impending death—never leaves him, and he yearns to become a healer.
Arab madrassas are the only authentic medical schools, and he makes his perilous way to Persia. Christians are barred from Muslim schools, but claiming he is a Jew, he studies under the world’s most renowned physician, Avicenna. How the woman who is his great love struggles against her only rival—medicine—makes a riveting modern classic.
A young orphan learns the ways of the poor in 11th-century disease-ridden England. As he travels across the country peddling cures to the sick, he discovers he has a real gift. Slowly, the dream of becoming a physician grows with him. From the author of Rabbi.

The Mike Hammer Collection, Volume 1
May not seem like a bargain at $12.99, but as an omnibus edition including 3 novels, in my mind that's $4.33 a book. Which is perfectly reasonable. Especially when my local used book store seemed to have no Spillane on the shelf when I was jonesing for it.

From Kirk Douglas, Hollywood royalty and bestselling author of The Ragman’s Son andMy Stroke of Luck, comes the candid story of the making of Spartacus, the blockbuster film that broke the blacklist
One of the world’s most iconic movie stars, Kirk Douglas has distinguished himself as a producer, philanthropist, and author of ten works of fiction and memoir. Now, more than fifty years after the release of his enduring epic Spartacus, Douglas reveals the riveting drama behind the making of the legendary gladiator film. Douglas began producing the movie in the midst of the politically charged era when Hollywood’s moguls refused to hire anyone accused of Communist sympathies. In a risky move, Douglas chose Dalton Trumbo, a blacklisted screenwriter, to write Spartacus. Trumbo was one of the “Unfriendly Ten,” men who had gone to prison rather than testify before the House Un-American Activities Committee about their political affiliations. Douglas’s source material was already a hot property, as the novelSpartacus was written by Howard Fast while he was in jail for defying HUAC. With the financial future of his young family at stake, Douglas plunged into a tumultuous production both on- and off-screen. As both producer and star of the film, he faced explosive moments with young director Stanley Kubrick, struggles with a leading lady, and negotiations with giant personalities, including Sir Laurence Olivier, Charles Laughton, Peter Ustinov, and Lew Wasserman. Writing from his heart and from his own meticulously researched archives, Kirk Douglas, at ninety-five, looks back at his audacious decisions. He made the most expensive film of its era—but more importantly, his moral courage in giving public credit to Trumbo effectively ended the notorious Hollywood blacklist. A master storyteller, Douglas paints a vivid and often humorous portrait in I Am Spartacus! The book is enhanced by newly discovered period photography of the stars and filmmakers both on and off the set.

The Lotus Eaters - $3.99
A unique and sweeping debut novel of an American female combat photographer in the Vietnam War, as she captures the wrenching chaos and finds herself torn between the love of two men.
On a stifling day in 1975, the North Vietnamese army is poised to roll into Saigon. As the fall of the city begins, two lovers make their way through the streets to escape to a new life. Helen Adams, an American photojournalist, must take leave of a war she is addicted to and a devastated country she has come to love. Linh, the Vietnamese man who loves her, must grapple with his own conflicted loyalties of heart and homeland. As they race to leave, they play out a drama of devotion and betrayal that spins them back through twelve war-torn years, beginning in the splendor of Angkor Wat, with their mentor, larger-than-life war correspondent Sam Darrow, once Helen's infuriating love and fiercest competitor, and Linh's secret keeper, boss and truest friend.
Tatjana Soli paints a searing portrait of an American woman’s struggle and triumph in Vietnam, a stirring canvas contrasting the wrenching horror of war and the treacherous narcotic of obsession with the redemptive power of love. Readers will be transfixed by this stunning novel of passion, duty and ambition among the ruins of war.
