For George RR Martin Fans!

Check this Barnes and Noble link

http://search.barnesandnoble.com/A-Dance-with-Dragons/George-R-R-Martin/e/9780553801477

There is no book yet, (sob!) but the Read an Excerpt is about Tyrion, and the Customer reviews are worth reading as well. Plus you can add your own opinion when you click "Write a Review".

I just finished "Fevre Dream" by GRRM. I rate it 4 stars compared to the 5 stars I rate his Song of Ice and Fire series, but it was still very good.

It's about Vampires! and its not a love story.

He's been rotating different chapters on his website, I think there is one about Jon Snow.  I just read the series this year after getting my nook, fantastic, I couldn't read them fast enough.  I know it's going to be a wait for the next one, I feel bad for all of the people that read it "real time".

Re: For George RR Martin Fans!

There is no release date yet, not even a rough estimate. That "December 2012" is just a placeholder. Though I wouldn't be at all surprised if we didn't get the book for two more years. :smileysad:

This. The internal BN search engine still has the release date listed as "December 2025" which is code for "the "ISBN has been assigned but we have no idea when it's coming out".

Oh man, I wish! He's not even finished writing it yet. It's now been 5 years since he said he was almost done.

Yes, me too!  Gorgeous illustrations of the castles of Westeros by Ted Nasmith (who is probably best known for his Tolkien artwork.)

Re: For George RR Martin Fans!

Apparently one of the Del Ray editors said at Comicon NY that he only has 5 chapters to go in a Dance With Dragons....hoping for a manuscript by Christmas, announcement of pub date in January.

Re: For George RR Martin Fans!

Add me and hubby to the list of those breathlessly waiting... we will probably re-read the entire series when it comes out and then buy it.

*knock on wood*

I was surprised by this news. Martin just got back from a month in Australia and he's now heading to Ireland, probably to look in on the HBO show's production. I doubt he's getting much writing done. I know the man has other responsibilites, but seriously. If there's reallly only 5 partial chapters left, can't the trip to the set wait a couple months?

One thing I've wondered about recently is what might happen if the show is successful. What if they catch up to A Dance With Dragons in seasons and there's nothing else published? I doubt he's going to turn into a book every other year author overnight.
