You're looking at the wrong one.  Use the link that Kristy provided, it is 0.00

****Correction

I beg your pardon, you are correct, sort of, lol.  If you click on the cover it comes up $2.49, but if you click on the little blue button that says "get free ebook" it comes up $0.00.  I just tried it and got it for $0.00.  Go figure, I'm not even going to try to understand that one.

The link is broken. It takes you to the wrong place or the right place doesn't exist. The cover is correct and it's published by Simon & Schuster.

Journey to the Well by Diana Wallis Taylor

Journey to the Well by Diana Wallis Taylor: NOOK Book Cover

She went to the well for water. What she found there would change her life forever.

Marah is a young girl in love with her childhood friend, Jesse. When she is forced to marry an older man, she must abandon her dreams of happiness. At the mercy of men who are often only interested in using her, Marah must fight for survival. Will she ever meet a man who can save her?

The story of the Samaritan woman at Jacob's well is one of hope, redemption, and a life changed in an instant through a remarkable encounter. Jesus told her "everything she'd ever done," but we are left to wonder at the circumstances that led her life on such a tragic path to begin with. Now from the creative mind of Diana Wallis Taylor comes the full story of the woman at the well.

This well-researched portrayal of a woman's life in the time of Jesus opens a window into a fascinating world. Taylor's rich descriptions of the landscapes, lifestyles, and rituals mesh easily with the emotional and very personal story of one woman who desperately seeks to rise above the difficult circumstances of her life.

Diana Wallis Taylor is an inspirational speaker and has taught writing and poetry workshops. She has published articles and short stories and is an award-winning poet and songwriter. She lives in California.

Re: Free NOOKbook summary thread - please no OT

Changes in the way the website functions this morning have affected some of the books I posted earlier today. The actual language of the search strings has changed, and for most of the links it works out okay.  Something funny's still going on with the link on the Time Machine edition by Simon & Schuster, but if you hold your cursor over the image and see the pop-up box showing the free item click on the box that way.  (Then you can just back up to get back to the thread.)

By the way -- If you're having trouble with the website, try deleting all your cookies.  That's what I had to do before I could get things to display properly.

cheers,

Kirsty

Re: more freebies

A few more freebies -- a novella for a teen fantasy series, a mystery, and one repeat freebie from a while back:

Summer's Crossing (Iron Fey Series)  by Julie Kagawa (Harlequin, June 2011)

From the Publisher

A Midsummer's Nightmare? Robin Goodfellow. Puck. Summer Court prankster, King Oberon's right hand, bane of many a faery queen's existence—and secret friend to Prince Ash of the Winter Court. Until one girl's death came between them, and another girl stole both their hearts.

Now Ash has granted one favor too many and someone's come to collect, forcing the prince to a place he cannot go without Puck's help—into the heart of the Summer Court. And Puck faces the ultimate choice—betray Ash and possibly win the girl they both love, or help his former friend turned bitter enemy pull off a deception that no true faery prankster could possibly resist.

An ebook exclusive novella from Julie Kagawa's Iron Fey series.

June Bug (Murder-by-Month Series)  by Jess Lourey (Llewellyn Worldwide, Sep 2010)

From the Publisher

Mira James never imagined life after college would be a doublewide trailer outside Battle Lake, Minnesota. Then again, maybe the North Country has more to offer than mosquitoes and broasted chicken.

Local legend claims that a diamond necklace was lost nearly a century ago in Whiskey Lake, not far from the present day Shangri-La resort. Mira, a part-time reporter, goes fishing for the story behind the legend, but her dives turn up more than missing jewelry. Buoyed by frozen Nut Goodies and a diminutive circus performer, the exhilarating search leads to a new mystery to unravel, and puts her face to face with the surfacing of a menacing foe from her past.

Admit One  by Emmett James (FizzyPop, Feb 2010)

From the Publisher

First set in Croydon, South London, in the 1980s, Admit One details how Emmett James escaped the pains of adolescence by going to the cinema. With wry, self-deprecating humor and observation, the author reflects on, obsesses over, and rages about film and its correlation to our pasts. The author finds that his true calling is in transiting one side of the screen to the other. He decides to leave England for the only place where he can realize his dream of becoming an actor - America.
We then follow the author on his numerous Hollywood adventures, watching as he glides smoothly from forgery to pornography to crashing the Academy Awards under the alias of a nominated screenwriter, and eventually stumbles into acting in the highest-grossing movie of all time, Titanic. At every turn, the films that inspired Emmett James as a child resurface, and they serve to contextualize his humorous collection of stories in which he provides unique insights into the fascinating world of film.

This is another free one called Fools Rush In

synopsis:

Ever wonder how Italian sounds with a Southern drawl?

Bella Rossi's life is just starting to get interesting. When her Italian-turned-Texan parents hand over the family wedding-planning business, Bella quickly books a Boot-Scootin' wedding that would make any Texan proud. There's only one catch—she doesn't know a thing about country music. Where will she find a deejay on such short notice who knows his Alan Jackson from his George Strait? And will Bella ever get to plan her own wedding?

Fun, fresh, and full of surprises, this flavorful combination of Italian and Tex-Mex highlights the hilarity that ensues when cultures clash.

Re: Free NOOKbook summary thread - please no OT

Free Friday is up now:

Life's a Beach Complimentary Edition

Overview

From the author of BEST STAGED PLANS comes a limited-time offer: LIFE’ S A BEACH, COMPLIMENTARY EDITION

This eBook includes a special preview chapter of BEST STAGED PLANS, available 6/7/2011 wherever books are sold.

About LIFE’ S A BEACH:

By the bestselling author of Must Love Dogs, the story of two grown-up sisters who fight like cats and dogs -- but call each other at least twice a day

Luckily for her legions of fans, Claire Cook returns with another sparkling romantic comedy that's reminiscent of Must Love Dogs in all the right ways, but very much its own animal -- about a relationship-challenged single woman, her quirky-to-put-it-mildly extended family, and the summer the shark movie came to town.

Life's a bit of a beach these days for Ginger Walsh, who's single at forty-one and living back home in the family FROG (Finished Room Over Garage). She's hoping for a more fulfilling life as a sea glass artist, but instead is babysitting her sister's kids and sharing overnights with Noah, her sexy artist boyfriend with commitment issues and a dog Ginger's cat isn't too crazy about. Geri, her BlackBerry-obsessed sister, is also nearly over the deep end about her pending fiftieth birthday (and might just drag Ginger with her). Toss in a dumpster-picking father, a Kama Sutra T-shirt-wearing mother, a movie crew come to town with a very cute...

After you click "Reply" you will see "Add Product" at the far top right end of the menu bar (to the right of the choices for Fonts, smilies, add link, etc.)

Click the Add Product link, enter the title of the book, select "ebooks" from the drop-down menu, then click "Search"

Scroll to the book you want, then click the button "Add Link & Image" then "Done"

I couldn't test it for you in Chrome but it works in Firefox:
