Ladies, are you tired of trying to engage your man in something he is reluctant to do? Let’s face it: husbands are not normally seen running to bookstores to buy a couple’s devotional. And guys, are you tired of feeling like the term “devotional” is code for “boring? You may be thinking, Please, not one more thing to check off my daily to-do list. Plus, you and your wife have different views on what intimacy is all about, right? If either of you is wondering if you’re living more with your “roommate” than your “soulmate,” then this devotional can help you meet on common ground and discover each other in new ways.

Not fifteen minutes later, the body of a man is found next door. The most sadistic serial killer in New Orleans history is on the prowl. He selects both a man and a woman, raping and killing them on the same night. When another woman from Deck’s past is found and identified, the young detective is flooded with questions. How does this maniac know Deck? Why is the FBI deputy director sabotaging his efforts to capture the killer? And, most unsettling, who’s next? As the Absinthe Killer continues to evade arrest, Deck is relieved of duty. But he’s far from giving up—and, unfortunately for Deck, the FBI knows it.

Your God. Your Country. Your Kin.
Who Do You Betray?

1563: Anyone could be a suspect; any Catholic could be accused of plotting against the throne. Clarenceux keeps his head down and his religion quiet. But when a friend desperately pleads with Clarenceux to hide a manuscript for him, he is drawn into a web of treachery and conspiracy he may never untangle. Is there no refuge if your faith is your enemy?

Bestselling author Dr. Ian Mortimer, writing as James Forrester, has crafted a chilling, brilliant story that re-imagines how the explosive mix of faith and fear can tear a country apart. Sacred Treason tells a thrilling story of murder, betrayal, and loyalty—and the power of the written word.

The Mister Trophy - free NOOK Book

[ Edited ]

This noir-fantasy novella is getting outstanding reviews at Amazon. It's also recommended as the introductory read for the Markhat series. I'm kind-of surprised at the publisher... it doesn't seem to fit with Samhain's usual fare.

The Mister Trophy [Samhain]

Description:

A troll’s missing head could cause Markhat to lose his own.

A Markhat story.

All the finder Markhat wanted was a beer at Eddie’s. Instead he gets a case that will bring him face to fang with crazed, blood-craving halfdead, a trio of vengeful Troll warriors, and Mama Hog’s backstreet magic. Plus, the possible resurgence of the Troll War.

All right in his own none-too-quiet neighborhood.

Through the town of Rannit’s narrow alleys and mean streets, Markhat tries to stay one step ahead of disaster. And ignore Mama Hog’s dire warnings that this time, the head that rolls could be his own.

This book has been previously published and has been revised and expanded from its original release.

The Player Slayer

  • ISBN-13:9781572846227
  • Publisher: Agate Publishing, Incorporated
  • Publication date: 3/1/2009

  • File size: 133 KB
The Player Slayer is an outrageous and hilarious guide on how to defeat, reject and otherwise deflect the players in your life. It’s a real world revision of The Rules, an urban answer to He’s Just Not That Into You. With steel-sharp wit and cutting insight, “Ms. T” breaks down both the player and the game. Most importantly, she shows you how to turn yourself from a “mark”—alone, outraged and disappointed—to a “slayer” strong enough to withstand even the best game. Ms. T blows away the whole “don’t hate the player, hate the game” smokescreen to reveal what makes a player a player, what makes his game work, and why women get beaten up in the game. This down-and-dirty guide will leave you empowered with the knowledge to outwit, outlast, and outplay even the player’s player.

When eighteen-year-old Ruth Becker visits her cousin Dora in Munich in 1923, she meets the love of her life, the dashing young journalist Hans Wesemann, and eagerly joins in the heady activities of the militant political Left in Germany. Ten years later, Ruth and Hans are married and living in Weimar Berlin when Hitler is elected chancellor of Germany. Together with Dora and her lover, Ernst Toller, the celebrated poet and self-doubting revolutionary, the four become hunted outlaws overnight and are forced to flee to London.
