Free Promo NOOKbook summary - December 10, 2010

    [ Edited ]

This is my list of short-term promotional NOOKbooks. I'm just listing the titles, without the covers. You can mouse over the title to see the cover if you want.

I've put the publisher's name in [brackets], which might give you a clue about the content. Zondervan, Tyndale House, Thomas Nelson, and Abingdon are Christian-oriented publishers. Samhain titles tend to have adult content, and are about the only free promotional titles available to Canadians. Galaxy publishes L. Ron Hubbard's books.

Thanks, Doug, for keeping this list--it's the first place I check for new free titles.  I appreciate the fact that you leave out the smashwords titles - my experience so far with those has been disappointing.

Thanks so much for this thread.  As someone else stated also, it is the first place I look for free books.  Thanks again!

    Perennial free NOOKbooks (not samples)

Here's a list of NOOKbooks that seem to always be free, so I don't include them on my promos list. Here again, I'm not including the Smashwords titles because there are about 2000 of those and I'm too lazy to put them all here. I'm also leaving off free samples and excerpts.

Most of these are romances and/or shorts. A couple are reportedly teasers, and probably shouldn't be on this list.

    From Harlequin and its imprints:

From Samhain (read the cautionary notes):

    • Colters' Wife (Multiple cautions: reviews indicate this is short, a teaser, and logically follows an earlier book) [Samhain]
    • I Thought It Was You (short, set between books 2 and 3 of a series) [Samhain]
    • Seducing Jane Porter (Caution: reviews indicate this is a short teaser) [Samhain]

    From Hachette:

    From Random House:

    From Macmillan publishers:

Oops. I missed a couple of short stories (The Hunters and The Wild's Call) on the second page of Harlequin's freebie list. I simply forgot to turn the page. :smileytongue:

Free Promo NOOKbook summary - December 13, 2010

I've decided to dump Slow Ride [Samhain] from the list. It's a short, and it's been free for over a month, so I'm guessing it's going to join the other three perennial shorts from Samhain. I'm waffling over The Writing Circle - B&N Review Copy; I have a feeling it's going to be perennial, too.
