I have had my Nook for about 2 months. I think its a great device. However, the good western books are too few. You have many old classics at reasonable price but he quality of writing of these books are much to be desired. Today such writers as Elmer Kelton, and many other Spur Award writers are not included. Please add to the available good western books (not just clasics).

While my reading selections tend more towards SciFi and Thrillers, I really liked Robert B Parker's Virgil Cole and Everett Hitch series - the movie Appaloosa was based on 3rd book in the series.

If you have specific titles in mind, try posting them in the "Can't Find Your eBook? Tell Us Here" thread on the eBook Discussion board. The thread is monitored, and I've found B&N pretty good at trying to make the titles identified there available.

I'd be interested in finding some good westerns also. I do see they have a lot of the McMurtry westerns, of which the books in the Lovesome Dove series are my favorites.

Ack! They don't have Kelton?! OK, while he's not Elmore Kelton, they do have Elmore Leonard's old Westerns. Those are supposed to be good. They also have Loren Estleman and Ed Gorman's Westerns, and I've heard great things about them.
If you like Dorchester Publishing's Leisure Westerns, many of those are now available for the nook -- and priced cheaply. Search for "Dorchester Western" in the search field, and they will come up. Many of the Leisure Westerns are reprints of Western magazine stories from the 1940s and 1950s -- often in book form for the first time. But they also publish many newer authors such as Johnny Boggs. It seems that Dorchester is going to be publishing e-books instead of mass market paperbacks from now on, so there will be more of their books available.

You might enjoy my recently released short Western novel entitled Standing Elk. It is fastpaced and strives to be historically accurate. The novel is available from Treble Heart Books or at the following website: http:www.trebleheartbooks.com/MVDressler.html
