Meanwhile, Across the Pond...

[ Edited ]

Now this is fun to watch:  E-book price war "absurd"

Don't forget, it is possible to pick up some of the titles from WH Smith.  :smileyhappy:

I just hope Waterstone's jumps into the fray since they don't have the same geographical restrictions...

Re: Meanwhile, Across the Pond...

Just goes to show, even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while:

"However, another senior publisher attacked the pricing strategies of W H Smith and Amazon. He said: "It’s absolutely absurd to devalue our product but I’m not surprised because our industry is populated by nincompoops.""

The man may not know economics or customer relationships, but he knows his industry, on both sides of the Atlantic! :smileyvery-happy:

I love when a manager (executive perhaps) uses the term nincompoop in a sentence.  I think this makes my day!  It was plural too, that's even better!

Re: Meanwhile, Across the Pond...

I was looking at some of the titles to see if there was anything on WH Smith's site  that I was interested in.  Everything that I wanted had limited availability and none of the available countries were US.

Has anyone been able to find books on WH Smith's ebook sites that are available in the US?

@MsRayne

Yes, I've bought books from WH Smith -- Harry Harrison's Eden series -- with no problems.

@ABthree

Yes, but that series has an availability of everywhere.  While, from what I can see, the Top 100 books that are discounted have limited availability.
