NOOK Summer Weekend Deals - where is the winner offered?

I've been seeing this offer to vote on Facebook, then the winning Nookbook is supposed to be offered at a discount on the weekend. I don't use FB, and I haven't seen anywhere where the winner is posted on the BN website.

For those of us who don't use FB, is there a page on the BN site where the winning choice can be found? Or, would someone who uses FB be willing to post the lnk to the weekly winner here?

@javabird:

According to the NOOK Facebook page, you must have a Facebook account and "like" the page in order to vote on the book.  Voting closes at 3:00 p.m. EDT on Thursdays, and the winning book will be available for purchase at $3.99 from Thursday at 11:59 p.m. EDT until Sunday at 11:59 p.m. EDT.

I assume that the winning book will be posted on the NOOK Facebook page, which can be viewed by non-Facebook users.  However, I'll be happy to post the winning choice here if that makes it easier.

BrandieC,

If you could that would be appreciated.  I'm just not a facebook user and can't ever seem to muster the energy to poke around on it to find anything of interest.  Now if it was Pinterest it would be a whole 'nother ballgame....  :smileywink:

Or Else

Runner (Jane Whitefield Series #6)

This weekend's (July 20-22) Summer Weekend Read is Runner (Jane Whitefield Series #6), by Thomas Perry.  From the product page:

Jane Whitefield—the fierce and resourceful heroine of Thomas Perry's most popular thrillers—returns from retirement to guide a fugitive out of danger.

For more than a decade, Jane Whitefield pursued her unusual profession: “I’m a guide . . . I show people how to go from places where somebody is trying to kill them to other places where nobody is.” Then she promised her husband she would never work again, and settled in to live a happy, quiet life as Jane McKinnon, the wife of a surgeon in Amherst, New York. But when a bomb goes off in the middle of a hospital fundraiser, Jane finds herself face to face with the cause of the explosion: a young pregnant girl who has been tracked across the country by a team of guns-for-hire. That night, regardless of what she wants or the vow she’s made to her husband, Jane must come back to transform one more victim into a runner. Her quest for safety sets in motion a mission that may be as much of a rescue operation as it is a chance for revenge.

Anansi Boys

This weekend's (July 27-29) Summer Weekend Read is Anansi Boys, by Neil Gaiman.  From the product page:

When Fat Charlie's dad named something, it stuck. Like calling Fat Charlie "Fat Charlie." Even now, twenty years later, Charlie Nancy can't shake that name, one of the many embarrassing "gifts" his father bestowed -- before he dropped dead on a karaoke stage and ruined Fat Charlie's life.

Mr. Nancy left Fat Charlie things. Things like the tall good-looking stranger who appears on Charlie's doorstep, who appears to be the brother he never knew. A brother as different from Charlie as night is to day, a brother who's going to show Charlie how to lighten up and have a little fun . . . just like Dear Old Dad. And all of a sudden, life starts getting very interesting for Fat Charlie.

Because, you see, Charlie's dad wasn't just any dad. He was Anansi, a trickster god, the spider-god. Anansi is the spirit of rebellion; he is able to overturn the social order, create wealth out of thin air, baffle the devil, and cheat Death himself.

Exciting, scary, and deeply funny, ANANSI BOYS is a kaleidoscopic journey deep into myth, a wild adventure, and a fierce and unstoppable farce, as Neil Gaiman shows us where gods come from, and how to survive your family.

The Inner Circle

This weekend's (August 24-26) Summer Weekend Read is The Inner Circle, by Brad Meltzer.  From the product page:

The best-kept secret of the U.S. Presidency is about to be revealed.

"There are stories no one knows. Hidden stories. I love those stories. And since I work in the National Archives, I find those stories for a living."

Beecher White, a young archivist, spends his days working with the most important documents of the U.S. government. He has always been the keeper of other people's stories, never a part of the story himself . . .

Until now.

When Clementine Kaye, Beecher's first childhood crush, shows up at the National Archives asking for his help tracking down her long-lost father, Beecher tries to impress her by showing her the secret vault where the President of the United States privately reviews classified documents. After they accidentally happen upon a priceless artifact-a two-hundred-year-old dictionary that once belonged to George Washington-hidden underneath a desk chair, Beecher and Clementine find themselves suddenly entangled in a web of deception, conspiracy, and murder.

Soon a man is dead and Beecher is on the run as he races to learn the truth behind this mysterious national treasure. His search will lead him to discover a coded and ingenious puzzle that conceals a disturbing secret from the founding of our nation. It is a secret, Beecher soon discovers, that some believe is worth killing for.

Gripping, fast-paced, and filled with the fascinating historical detail for which he is famous, THE INNER CIRCLE is a thrilling novel that once again proves Brad Meltzer as a brilliant author, writing at the height of his craft.
