our wishlist is back!

Mine is back, too!  I had mine bookmarked and was getting the "The creation has reached its limit" message.  Today, my bookmark link works! (The list did have a few glitches though--only 68 of the last 75 titles showed up, plus three old, long-deleted titles)

Has anyone tried adding new titles to the list yet?

Thanks for the tip. It's there, but I definitely wouldn't have figured out how to find it, since it's pretty much a hidden link. Maybe they can work on recovering it now..

You can also get to it by going to account settings, scrolling down to digital management and selecting "MY Nook Wish List".

Re: No Nookbook wish list

It seems to depend on where you are on B&N that determines what “Nook Wish List” you will be linked to.  About a week or so ago I was trying to add a book to my “Wish list” and the link was not there but there was a link for the “Nook Wish List” quite by accident I did a double click to add the book and was able to see the book that I had just added but not my old list, so for a week or more I have been adding books if I get the “Nook Wish List” as an option and when I want to see what I’ve added I just do the double click thing.  But I’ve noticed that you don’t always get the choice to add to the “Nook Book List” or the “Wish List” it seems that it is an either or situation and don’t get me started on the wish lists that I created because they are now just ghosts that seem to come and go on a whim.

When my “Nook Wish List” first took a powder I did try the links that just looked like symbols and got the message that the list was full.  Today however when I gave it a whorl I did get what looks like my old list back with some of the books that were added when I did the double click thing, but not all of the books.  Oddly or maybe not so odd is that I can still do the double click thing if I have a choice to add to the “Nook Book List” and see the stuff that I added.

I do agree with several of the posters, that most users of the site will not come to the board to look for solutions so they are pissed that a function that I’m sure most use is not functioning.  Don’t know what to say to that but I sure hope this gets resolved soon

Re: No Nookbook wish list

I am still unable to access my nookbook wish list, and I have tried accessing it from different links.  I'm happy for the people who can now access their lists, but apparently the problem is not yet fixed for all of us.  Keeping my fingers crossed......

Re: No Nookbook wish list

I received a message from B&N informing me that my wish list is gone for good.  I have to start a new wish list.  Really?  I'm not going to bother spending the time compiling a new list through B&N or even keeping a list on my own computer.  I'll just get out a notebook and keep a list with pen and paper.  So much for technology! ::smileylol:

Interesting - I know that only my Wish list and my Nook wish list work but not my other wish lists

Nice they told you but I'm curious; was it your Wish List and or you My Nook wish list that they said was gone or one's that you created?

You do know that the wish list feature is just a database and much as us techie people don't like to admit it some times database do something call truncating and will break. If your wishlist just so happened to be where the break happens then yea, it's gone. This does not mean that the function does not work it actually does but as all things that are created by humans it just not perfect.

Re: No Nookbook wish list

It was my nook wish list that disappeared.  I didn't have anything in the regular wish list.  Oh well.  The frustrating part is not remembering some of the books I put on the list that looked interesting.

I hear ya,

I had created a list that just had book series that I either wanted to start or wanted to remember the next book. I lost that wish list and I am still trying to remember.

I don't know what to say except that I am sure that a lot of people were not happy about the wish list issue and I'm sure that B&N will make sure that whatever happened does not occur again. I'd say try it again

One of the things that I know (well at least for my Nook touch) is the wish list does not sync up to any of my wish lists online.  As a suggestion you could put your wish list books on line and on the device bearing in mind that if you ever had to deregister the device then that wish list would be gone. A bit of a pain I know but even if you were to put stuff in the so called cloud it could still be lost. A couple years back ADP had an issue where the cloud totally failed them because of a server issue. I think that it is just part of living in a computerized world

@kah9932:

I've found that the best way to keep track of series that looking interesting is to "follow" them on fictfact.com.  Not only does that enable you to see every book in each series, but you also get an e-mail every time a new book is added to one of the series you are following.

I suppose that, like everything else online, fictfact.com could suffer a catastrophic failure and lose all of the information I have stored there, but so far, it's been a terrific help.

Re: No Nookbook wish list

My Nook Wish List is back!  It's been 2 or 3 weeks since I last checked, so I'm not sure when it came back.  Everything seems to be there.  Very happy!:smileyhappy:

Re: No Nookbook wish list

Still noticing some weird behavior when trying to add items to the list. Sometimes adding items from the book page doesn't seem to work. I still need to go directly to the list and add items from there.

Re: No Nookbook wish list

I can't access my wish list page if I'm trying to go there while I'm in the MyNook page. It keeps asking me tto sign in, then dumps me back to mynook page. I have to first go to another page, THEN I can get to the wishlist page. Weird.

Re: No Nookbook wish list

So now my wishlist is back, but there's a new problem. When I try to add new items to the list, they aren't showing up, but when I try to add them again, it says the item has already been added to the list.

Sigh. Sure wish this would get fixed.
