Re: Reading now?

(These are available for free if you Google the internet)

Max Lucado

Awesome writer... Paints vivid imagery with words that clarify and emphasize the Christian experience and opens a deeper insight into the Bible, even for veteran students of scripture...

"He Chose the Nails" Reading now: Emphasizes each element and happening on the way to the crucifixion - how these represent different sins that he carries to the cross. Max can supprisingly and tastefully inject humor by giving examples of his own shortcomings. You won't be disappointed in this one. Worthy and uplifting.

"In the Eye of the Storm" Just finished: Discusses Jesus' humanity. He got tired, slept as we do, encountered temptations and trials - emphasizes that he is familiar with our ordeals and can offer help and assurance. Don't miss it.

Tip: I use a program called Calibre to translate books to a format best suited for my reader. In my case some of these from .pdf to .epub for the Nook Color.

A Visit from the Goon Squad

i am about a quarter of the way through this Pulitzer Prize winning collection of character sketches.  Thus far, the characters are dysfunctional and dissatisfied with their lives. Since the summary of the novel pegs it as a "startling, exhilarating novel of self-destruction and redemption,"  I'm hoping for a few "happier" characters in the remaining chapters.
