I have added several hundred free titles to my library, but am a slow reader. Before I start a book I would like to know what other think about it. The reviews on bn.com are not totally reliable so I was wondering if anyone would like to contribute their thoughts on the best-of-the-best free titles that they have read. I have not read any free books yet that were absolutely stellar and deserving of five stars. Have you?

Yes. I loved this one, which I think has been offered free more than once. It's quirky, funny, and very heartfelt.

I Shall Not Want If you like mysteries, I really liked the Psalm 23 Mysteries that have been offered several times. They have a little Christian bent, but are not overtly preachy. I like the rapport between the church secretary and the rabbi next door. My favorite is the third one.

I have read two books so far that I got as freebies that I gave 5 stars. I don't give 5 star ratings very often. I am quite picky and have to absolutely love a book to give it 5 stars. The two I have given 5 stars to are:
I got this book as a Friday freebie a couple months ago. It was one of my favorite historical fiction reads.
I got this as one of my first freebies. It is the story of Eve but retold in beautiful, lyrical, sensual prose. This book truly moved me and was one of those books that when I finished it I was telling my friends about it. It does fall in to the Christian fiction category, which I don't know if you like that, but I recommend it as one of the best books I have read this year.

The Prayers of Agnes Sparrow (Bright's Pond Series)
Griselda Takes Flight
The Bright's Pond series is offered for free quite frequently. If you like quirky characters that are both funny and heartwarming, these books are for you! I just finished "Griselda Takes Flight," which is the third book in the series. The series begins with "The Prayers of Agnes Sparrow." Over time, I have been able to download the whole series for free.
Also, I agree with aharey---I read the first book in the Psalms 23 mystery series and really enjoyed it as well.

Dies Irae ne of my favorites. It has six much deserved five star reviews and two four star reviews. It's dark, emotional, and completely absorbing.

Blame It on the Mistletoe (Bright's Pond Series)
Just finished the last of the Bright's Pond series. Love them & was sorry that it was over. This is the last book of the series (doesn't have to be the holidays to read). Am going to start Psalms 23 series.
