Many thanks to BorderCollie for the link to the free comics.

Speaking of the new comics with zoom view, any recommendations for free or inexpensive ones? I would like to check out the new feature, but I'm not sure where to start. I haven't read many comics -- some of Sandman and Fables which I really liked. I'd be interested in something along those lines since I usually read fantasy.

Just giving this thread a bump and wanted to thank everyone who takes the time to look for and post free books in the "Free NOOKbook" thread. It really helps the users who don't have the time/availability/patience to do the searches themselves. You are all appreciated!

This week's Free Friday book, Cold Kiss, doesn't show up on my NT after downloading it online. It appears in my online library, but not on my tablet. I have shut down and restarted a couple of times, and even tried downloading it on my NT, but I just get a message saying I already own the book. Any suggestions?

I just went and grabbed the free Friday book too. It will download to my Nook for PC, but not to my NT or NC. Last night there was another book that I got that downloaded to my Nook for PC and NT, but wouldn't download to my NC this morning. Something must be messed up. I guess I'll refrain from buying any more books until this is fixed.![]()

I'm hoping the download issue won't mess with the new books I was gifted this morning or I'd be an unhappy camper.

For those having problems with today's Free Friday book--- Go to page three of today's Free Friday Blog comments and look for the first post on the page by Baste. It gives instructions on how to get today's freebie to show up on your Nook. Hope this helps--it worked for me.

I've been having this same issue today with my magazines that I usually get on Friday's - they won't download to my NC but show in my online library. Assuming it's a glitch somewhere in the system that will hopefully be fixed soon.

I had the same issue with the Free Friday Book. The next day I hit the Sync button in my library and the book showed up on my Nook.

Very confusing to be told to come here when asking a question in the free nook book thread about two different free book threads and then scroll back through and see others posting same sort of comments in the free nook book thread yet they were not told to come here for those posts. It must be that comments, instead of book posts, are okay for some but not for all? I am not being difficult or obtuse, just trying to clarify that if the post is not a book then it belongs here. And if so, why is that point not made to everyone who posts something other than a book?

No, I think these are new posters who are not yet aware of this thread.

Bumping this thread once again to remind folks that we have a dedicated thread for the discussion of free books (this one) and a separate thread for the posting of free titles.

Has anyone else found that it is becoming harder to search for currently free books? For example, if searching by publisher, not all the currently free titles by that publisher are now showing in the results. Sometimes a search for a certain publisher yields 0 results when there are actually several free titles at the time.
When searching by genre, it would be great if we could filter out the samplers and PubIt titles, or maybe certain sub-genres, because who has time to look at hundreds of pages of results? Using a different sort method (bestselling, newest to oldest) sometimes helps, but not much.
If anyone has tips for more effectively finding the freebies and sale-priced books, I'd appreciate new ideas. We know there are lots of books that are only free or on sale for a day or two, but we miss it because searching is often so cumbersome or ineffective.

@rbymtn:
I can't help with search tips on the B&N site, but I have found that Karen at the Books on the Knob blog is very good at posting free eBooks, as well as various deals and coupon codes on other sites.

Are posts for "Repeat Freebies" reminders that these books are free, or were these books free at one time, then not free, then free again?
