When I got my nook two weeks ago I tore through Under the Dome and then read The Road. I am now reading Assassin's Apprentice on recommendation from a friend; very good so far. After this I am going to get Desperation and then continue the Assassin series.

I am now reading The Circle Trilogy  by Ted Dekker. it is 3 novels ( Black, Red, White) in one book and over 1,000 pages, so will take me some time to get through it, but I am luvin it!  I have the 4th book in the series, called GREEN in hardback which I will read after.

I'm reading "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" by Betty Smith with the Literature by Women B&N club on my nook.

I have wonderful positive memories about the novel which I first read as a teenager in the 70s.

Now as an adult, entering this brave new world of e-readers, I wonder how reading it on a nook would affect my emotional response to this classic... and if HOW I read a classic will be affected by the medium itself.

It'll be interesting to compare.

Just finished 'Half Broke Horses' by Jeannette Walls.  I read 'The Glass Castle' by her awhile ago, but will probably put that one on Arthur (my nook). I love her writing style and wouldn't mind revisiting the rest of the story now that I've read the beginning. (The two books together are her family history.)

I've been reading Watership Down on my nook, and enjoying it a lot! Can't wait to finish it though and read either Under the Dome or Huckleberry Finn.

Just got my nook last Monday, and have already finished Under the Dome by Stephen King, Captains Wentworth's Diary by Amanda Grange, and Mr, Knightley's Diary also by Amanda Grange.  Over time I plan definitely plan to have all the Jane Austen books, everything by Bronte sisters, Lewis Carroll's stories, and the Wheel of Time series.  Due to health problems I couldn't get to the book store as often as I wanted for the last few years and for me, this is a godsend.  Might end up being an expensive one, cause I read very fast, but still, I'm loving it!  As for tonight, I might be starting book 8 of the Wheel of Time series again in regular hardback (can't wait till this whole series is on my nook) or re-read Watchers by Dean R. Koontz on my nook.

New York by Edward Rutherford.  It is a long book, but I love Historic Novels than span the years, and this is one of them, a very good one.

then you really need to check out your local libary and ask them about the eBook program to lend books

Here on Long Island its called Suffolk Wave and they are in parntship with other libarys to be able to afford to carry the Program.

Currently reading two ebooks. One on my itouch via kindle app because BN doesn't carry "Somewhere in TIme" by Richard Matheson. (Please add this to the BN catalog!) I love this book and on my book I am reading "I am Legend" another great Richard Matheson book. Please add more books by him please. Love my Nook!!

Most of my reading is actually purchased (or gotten for free) from other sites, as my taste tends to not to be mainstream.

Purchased a Nook 3G in May and haven't stopped reading since... I read many different series but some of my favorites include the Mitch Rapp Series by Vince Flynn, The James Lee Burke Series that include Dave Robicheaux and Clete Purcel, also Alex Berensen, and a great favorite of historical novels is Wibur Smith, the Courtnesy of England and Africa is great. 

Right now anything to do with the middle east, either historical or current is kind of fun for me to read.  Knowing Arab people, knowing their cultural customs and belief are good areas for me right now.

I am willing to share any ebooks if anyone is interested.  I am not a fan of Sci-Fiction, or horror, or gushy rommance novels, but I am reading Stieg Larssons Millinium Series... all good.  The subject is sensitive and from a male perspective.  Very good.

Interesting; I never  remember the Dune Series being about Muslim people or Islam... I will need to check that out again.  I think it has been 35 years since I read it.  In college I took a Science Fiction Literature class.  At that time I hated reading and wanted to just get the credits.  Fortunately it fed my desire to read more, not only Science Fiction but reading of all kinds.

Just finished The Monsters of Templeton by Lauren Groff.

This is a tale of magical realism about a very flawed woman named Willie who returns to her hometown after some bad choices lead to personal disaster. On the day she returns her mother, former hippie, now newly converted Christian, confesses to a secret about Willie's origins, spurring her to research her family's long and sordid history to find the truth.  The same day the body of Glimmey, the town's legendary lake monster, is found.

Willie is very hard to like, but the story of her family is riveting, full of ghosts, madness and lust. The monster, though usually in the background, ties the whole book together. It is, of course, an allegory for the people of Templeton. It was difficult to get into at first, mainly due to Willie's obnoxious behavior, but once it gets going it's hard to put down.

Just finished the Brian Pratt Morcyth series .. all 8 books.  I really enjoyed them but now I'm left hanging because the next book is not out yet .. grrrrr.  This happened with Karen Marie Moning's Fever series too.  They got me with the first book for free on both series.  Oh well.  I've got lots of others to read until they come out.
