I finished
The Pawn (Patrick Bowers Files Series #1)
which was a pretty good but long (400 pages) read, especially for a free book.
Now reading:
which came available at the Houston Public Library.
Next up:
which also came available from the Houston Public Library. The HPL is getting better and better. If you're in Texas, you can mail off the application with your TXDL to get a free card.

I changed my mind. LOL I decided to order The Black Prism in hardcover because I want it on my shelf with the other Brent Weeks books I own. So I just started:
I got it the other day for $0.99. I'm only on chapter 4, but I'm loving the writing so far!

I've really gotten into fantasy/sci-fi books since buying my Nook. Never really read them much in the past (fan of Elric by Michael Moorcock and Tolkien of course when I was younger, but that was about it), but it is a genre I'm beginning to love.
Was looking for a series to read in this genre after having just finished The Name of the Wind by Peter Rothfuss and tried a few but nothing was really my style I guess. I stumbled upon the Mistborn trilogy by Brandon Sanderson and thought I'd give it a shot. I was a little apprehensive after reading that he was finishing up the Wheel of Time series (a series I've attempted to start reading several times but never could get into), but decided to download the sample on my Nook (40 page sample.... niiiiice) to see if it warranted purchase. After 20 pages I knew it was my next book to read.
I'm now about two-thirds of the way through this book and can't wait to start the next book in the series.

Click the "Add Product" button on the message window on the upper right side.
Edit: Doh! I wrote Peter Rothfuss instead of Patrick Rothfuss earlier.

The Mistborn trilogy is fantastic! You won't be disappointed.
He has a new book coming out on 8/31 named The Way of Kings.

I'm not disappointed at all yet, but I have gotten annoyed with the number of times he has written "sighed" and "frowned". It was so often that I actually opened the eBook and did a find on each word to see if it was just me being weird or if those words were used a lot.
sighed: appeared 90 times in the book
frowned: appeared 146 times in the book
Guess it wasn't my imagination. LOL
