I just finished
Good light read, enjoyable especially if you've read and enjoyed the Drake Sisters. Set in the same town, overlap of characters.
I'm now reading
Map of Bones (Sigma Force Series #2)
which I got from the library. I'm enjoying this series so far, I really enjoyed his book, Alter of Eden, which got me started on this series.
Next in line I have two more library books
and

Finished reading The Scarlet Letter this morning at... oh, about 3AM? I knew I was drawing closer and closer to the end, and just couldn't stop myself. Quite happy with it, especially for the price I paid (Free, thanks B&N!).

Reading for the first time. I know, hard to imagine:
Great Expectations (Barnes & Noble Classics Series)
Rereading for the 1,318th time. I know its an exageration but I just love Thomas Hardy's work.
Far From the Madding Crowd (Barnes & Noble Classics Series)

I had to read Great Expectations in high school, where I probably glossed over it. I got Far From the Madding Crowd last week, but I had a bunch of library books come available so those come first.
In the meantime, I had started
The Pawn (Patrick Bowers Files Series #1)
(found it free from B&N via a post on this forum)

File this under "Judging a book by its cover", but I'd seen this...
Mockingjay (Hunger Games Series #3)
... advertised at my local B&N as well as online, and had no clue what it was about. The title and cover didn't do much for me, so I was planning to let it fade into memory. I decided earlier today while trying to decide what to read next to do a little research on the subject however, and liked what I saw (sounded interesting, but I can't start with the finale can I?), so now I'm reading this...
The Hunger Games (Hunger Games Series #1)

You have to read Catching Fire after Hunger Games. Catching Fire is the second book and you do have to read them in order...In my opinion

Finished:
This was a Free Friday offering a few weeks ago. It has a classical "suspense" novel structure, rather than a mystery. It's also the first part of a multi-book story arc that will need to be read in order; some of the questions raised are left unanswered at the end of the book. I thought that it was fairly routine for a suspense novel—not bad, but not great—but I suspect that the YA target audience will find it much more interesting than I did. I was also bemused at the Christian sections (maybe 4 pages) that seem to have been "bolted on" for Zondervan's benefit; they don't really contribute anything to the plot, the atmosphere, the characters, or anything else. Although maybe that changes in the later books.
I also read:
This just didn't do anything for me. I guess I'm not destined to be a Repairman Jack fan.
And:
I really liked this short story, and I've mentioned it in another thread here. Take an Urban Fantasy and transplant it into the wilds of a Native American reservation, and that's close to the flavor.
Now reading:
Snow Ball (in e-book from Smashwords—no, I don't know why the author hasn't offered the e-book via B&N)

Will do, just finished the first book a few minutes ago.
Very interested to see where things go from here. Will have to hit up B&N tomorrow for a Gift Card (don't like using my CC online unless necessary) to buy the other two books.
Why does B&N close so early anyway?... 11 PM?... really?!

Bram Stoker's DRACULA!
Ashamed to say i have never read it. It's such a chilling story and I can't put it down. And for a classic, it actually reads quickly. (I've gone through 300 pages in 4 days). The language and writing are not too heavy or antiquated at all!!!
Lovin' it!!!!!! :-)

Gave up on:
After a brief 'teaser' scene, we're treated to the telling of the protagonist's life story, all the way from infancy. 30 pages in, the story hadn't really started yet, so I gave up. There are also some minor formatting issues in the e-book.
Also read:
4th Wish, a short story from Fictionwise. It was okay, but nothing really special.
Now reading: A Logic Named Joe, a compendium of classic sci-fi works by Murray Leinster, from Baen. I'm currently reading the title story, which was written in 1946 about a future where people had gizmos in their homes with keyboards and screens, that connected them to giant information storage facilities where they could find out about almost anything. (Nah, that'll never happen.) Then one day a gizmo is manufactured with a bug that makes it self-aware, and when it gets hooked in it tries to make itself useful.

Just started reading the third book in the Forgotten Realms: Transitions Books by R.A. Salvatore:
Next up after this will be the new Terry Brooks Shanarra book:
Bearers of the Black Staff (Legends of Shannara Series #1)
And then after that will be the 4th book in the Twilight series:
Figured I read the other ones, might as well get to this one too lol.

Just finished, a little late since I read The Alienist in 1994 I think.
Am now starting the sequel to Pillars of the Earth on my nook, since my DTB was lost in a recent move.
Then am eagerly anticipating

Well, I saw that there's an ozone alert tomorrow for North Texas, to limit outdoor activities. Okay strange flashing road sign, I shall heed your advice on this matter. Just downloaded both of the following which should keep me fairly busy tomorrow...
Catching Fire (Hunger Games Series #2)
Mockingjay (Hunger Games Series #3)
