@pughugs

Go to Inkmesh.com and put in "Doctor Who" -- that's the best place to start.

Re: Where to Find a Doctor Who freebie

There is also a collection of free Dr Who stories available on the official BBC Doctor Who site.

I'll post the link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/dw/news/bulletin_101224_01/Download_Doctor_Who_Booklet

But in case it gets removed, it's under the News & Features section of the site, or just do a Google search for "doctor who snowfall".

I haven't found too many DW books from US sites and I haven't look closely enough at the British ones to know if I can download from them since I reside stateside.

Particularly, I'd like the new one written by SF great Michael Moorcock.

But enjoy the freebie!

Re: Where to Find a Doctor Who freebie

Is the MIchael Moorcock one available as an ebook?  I've only been able to find the print edition.  I don't usually read these series, but I've loved Dr. Who on TV since the early Seventies and I've heard this book is really good.  As far as I know, it's not available in audio either and Audible has a lot of Dr. Who books.

The hard thing with trying to find Dr. Who, Star Wars, Star Trek, etc. series here on B&N is that they are listed by the series title rather than the book title.   How can you figure it out when there are paged of books with the same title?  (For the record, I just did a search for both Dr. Who and Doctor Who on my Nook and came up with only one book.)

Re: Where to Find a Doctor Who freebie

Amazon & Kobo have the Michael Moorcock one. I just don't know if I want to deal with ADE on my current (old) computer. Some of the others in the newer series are available only as ebooks from British retailers, i.e. WHSmith, Waterstone's. But I don't know if they have the same problem selling to the US that B&N has selling to the UK. Rights issues and all.

B&N pretty much has nothing and they are almost impossible to search for. The one title that does come up if you search "doctor who" under nookbooks is Andy Lane's The Empire of Glass, which was published when Virgin had the DW license. It was available for a time through the Dr. Who website and I suspect someone put it up through PubIt in violation of copyright. There doesn't seem to be any easy method to report this to B&N if you are not the rights holder.

Waterstone's used to sell to the US but they had to stop.  I bought a couple of books from them, and got an email that I would no longer be able to.  I was never able to buy anything from WHSmith, always had a geographical restriction.  I would guess they have the same issues, copyright laws, etc.
