Re: Why are more books available for the Kindle than the Nook?

Maggie_A.........Hi! :manhappy:

I just purchased the Simple Touch. I was able to get the books that I wanted from another source and convert those books to the epub format using the Free and Open Source Software ebook reader named Calibre (http://www.calibre-ebook.com/download). Took some time for ME to figure out how to transfer the books to my nook but I was able to figure it out in an hour or two and I am currently enjoying the books from my device. Hope this helps. If you need some help with this option, just give me a shout at bgann36067@gmail.com.

Good Luck!!! :manhappy:

Thanks for your kind offer BowHunter. I may concede and transfer ePub books someday. In this case, the book (Cooking With Fernet Branca) is the first in a 3 part series and only the 1st is available as an e-book anywhere. I'll just put it on my wish list and hope the requests to publishers will help B&N broaden their assortment over the long run.

if you search 'free' you get 61K+ returns.  Every friday a new free book is featured.  This very board has a thread displaying free nookbooks that people have found.

Perhaps you simply aren't looking.

Start from the last page and work your way back. Freebies do not last long and they can also cycle back around again.

A lot of those free KIndle books are only available to Amazon Prime members, Which costs $75 a year.
