Why can't you cancel a Nookbook order?

I do not understand why a PREORDERED Nookbook cannot be cancelled. I completely understand not being able to cancel the order of a book after it has been downloaded, but since a preordered ebook can not be downloaded until it is released, why not the ability to cancel the preorder???

Good question.  I've never pre-order an ebook.  Does it show up in your Nook online library at the time you pre-order it?  Could you delete it from there before it's available for download?  And hopefully not get charged for it, of course.  Or maybe they'd take care of it if you called Customer Service.

And you also cannot cancel an order either for a cover, not to mention online it did show I would receive a discount with a coupon and when I spoke to a customer service person I got the runaround.  The only reason I bought a Nook over a Kindle is the store is close to me, but after this fiasco I'm done with B&N online, period.  Such a disappointment from B&N.

You CAN cancel a pre-order, but you need to call Customer Service to do so.
