IMO, do yourself a favor and don't bother.
Book 1 was enjoyable and a satisfying read.
Book 2 much less so. Often it feels like a retread with no forward momentum in the story. (Unless you are obsessed with the Peeta-Katniss-Gale love triangle.)
Book 3 disappointed me on so many fronts. I would have felt sorely cheated if I had paid for it rather than borrow it from the library.

If you go over to Books on the Knob, you will find some discount codes for another seller and not the big A...75% and 90% off. I think you can use them on this book. You will of course have to download to your computer and side load to your Nook.

I've got to be careful not to violate any terms of use here but "another" ebook seller that sells ePub books (compatible with the NOOK) has a promo code for 75% off and I just nabbed the entire trilogy for less than $7. This is the benefit of the NOOK over the Kindle and to non-agency pricing.

Thanks for sharing the information!

WhiteGinger posted this in response to another request to borrow the Hunger Games.
It is a link to the Kobo site with a coupon code to get the entire Trilogy for under $3.

I read a Mobileread topic about myriads of different discount codes from our Canuck friends. They're even undercutting Amazon by a great deal with some of the (as high as 90%?) discounts. I'm beginning to think that B&N is so focused on the one K that they're going to be snipered by the other K.

I just got it myself (after I just purchased the first book in the series from Google Books for only $5, sigh). Just to let you know, I had trouble with the link that WhiteGinger provided connecting to Kobo, until I noticed there is an extra HT at the beginning of the HTTP: string for the website address. I deleted the first two letters, and it worked like magic from there forward. Yea, all three books for $2.70, and I thought I got a deal when I purchased one for $5. ![]()

YOU got ripped off! I bought the trilogy several weeks ago at only 35% or 40% off. Then K came out with all these 75% and 90% deals. BTW--Booksontheknob posts all the current K coupons (right side, about midway down). I have exhausted my non-agency wish list.
Sorry the link was messed up. I never thought to check it. ![]()
A big thank-you to Karen at Books on the Knob for her hard work. (I know she checks in with the B&N boards, too.)

Hey Whiteginger, for me I owe you a big thanks! There are so many places to go check that I have gotten burned out on checking what the newest greatest deal is. By you kindly letting us know about the great deal I am now the happy owner of the entire Hunger Games Trilogy (granted I have two copies of the first book, but this how it goes). A big thank you to you for the post! ![]()

Way back when nook deals were posted on pixel of ink, I was able to buy the trilogy for 2.99 from B&N. probably the best deal I've ever gotten. I miss the deals and the vast amounts of freebies, but I'm still happy to keep supporting B&N and not the big A.

That was a great deal too! The trilogy was a lot cheaper before it was a hit. Same as Amanda Hockings books. I picked up her both of her series for free or a couple bucks each before she was picked up by a publisher. Now each book is running about 8.99.
We do have the daily find which is usually a steep discount. Variety of genre/categories every day, which I think is a good thing because I couldn't afford it if I wanted all of them.I do find at least one a week that I want and I'm always glad I got it. There is still a free ebooks page too.
There a lot of freebies that are not classics, but are current ebooks. Once the Agency model went into effect, their titles were no longer free and that forced me to start looking at Indie authors and non Agency authors and publishers. A lot of them are very good (that's how I found Amanda Hocking). Almost all of them offer at least one of their ebooks for free to introduce you to their writing. After that, you'll have to buy the rest, but the prices tend to be $.99 to $3.99 a book. I have no problem picking up their free ebooks. If I don't like it, I'm not out any money and if it bothers me to even own it, I delete it. It only takes a few pages for me to tell if it's readable or not and my time isn't THAT precious that I can't waste 10 or 15 min deciding if I like an ebook or not. Sometimes I find a GREAT series that I love and have to buy the rest of their ebooks. And happily, they are almost always affordable!!
But I do miss the ability to use coupons/codes for purchases that I want. Kobo doesn't have the selection that B&N has, but they do have discount codes for non-agency ebooks. I picked up several of the non agency ebooks on my wish list there this past week using their discount codes.
My big frustration is that often A will offer new ebooks (non-agency) free for the first day. After that, they are only free to Prime Members. And B&N hasn't even gotten the ebook yet. I have several series in which the first ebook was picked up at A for free, but I purchased the rest of the series here at B&N.
