Sorry, I don't have any of these on my nook, but here are some of the ones I liked best.

Those Who Hunt the Night by Barbara Hambly.  It's been almost 25 years, but I really enjoyed this book in high school.  I understand there is a sequel to it as well, which I haven't read,  Traveling With the Dead.

The early Anne Rice books were pretty good.  Interview With the Vampire, The Vampire Lestat and Queen of the Damned.  After those first three, it was like the story got lost somewhere and I didn't care for them anymore.

Child Of an Ancient City by Tad Williams is aimed more at a young adult/youth audience, but I enjoyed it.

Re: vampire books

I read the first few books of the Noble Dead series (I plan to finish it one day).  The first book is called Dhampir, by Barb Hendee.  It wasn't what I would call a contemporary vampire love story, which is probably why I did like it.  Instead, it's an interesting story told from an unlikely perspective.  There are quite a few books in the series now.  You may like them.

I love the Night Huntress Series by Jeaniene Frost. Have read several and they are truly page turners. Enjoy!

Fred Saberhagen, including The Dracula Tape, and Chelsea Quinn Yarboro's Hotel Transylvania.

So much better than Twilight and more substantial than Vampire Academy.

[ Edited ]

The entire Comte de St. Germain series by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro, taking our hero from ancient Rome to the 20th century.  Way better than Anne Rice or any that followed her.

Re: vampire books

There is a great vampire series out called royal blood chronicles. It's so fun, fantasy, magic, great characters I hear book seven is coming out soon and I can't wait. Here's a link to book one. http://bookclubs.barnesandnoble.com/t5/forums/postsuccesspage/board-id/pubit/message-id/5351
