I've been using Nook on my Android phone for a few months now. Several books later and no problems until yesterday. I logged into BN web site with my laptop and purchased a new book. I ran into a problem because the credit card stored there was an old cancelled one. The purchase logic objected, I entered a new credit card and the book was purchased. 10 minutes later I looked at my books via my android phone and the book was there. I tapped download and watched the download. All looked good until I tapped the book to read it and got the error message above.
I've tried a number of things. I have no trouble reading the book from a computer. I archived and unarchived the book from my Android device and that did not fix it. I deleted my expired credit card aned made sure the new valid one was the default.
It seems really odd to be getting a credit card error just attempting to open a book after a successful purchase.
What gives? This is clearly a bug IMHO.
Solved! Go to Solution.

The DRM key on the Android phone was probably not updated correctly with the new credit card info.
If you have not too many books on your B&N account logout the B&N Android app and login to B&N again. You will have to download your books again, but this should update the DRM key.
If you have a lot of books you could try to uninstall the B&N app, and than install it again. That way you will have not to download the books again, but I am not sure this will solve the problem.

Worked great - only had 8 books so downloading again won't be a hassle. The message "syncing library" appears as I logged back in. Many thanks!!!

I had the same problem on two Android devices after I changed the default credit card. Logging out and then back in to the app solved it. Interestingly, my Nook "Classic" does not have this problem - old faithful...

The Nook "Classic" does not sync the credit card info with your account, it asks you to input the credit card info the first time the info is needed.

I have been having the same problem with the books on my android phone (but not magazines). I did the sign out (no luck) and then removed and reinstalled the app. Still not working. Any other suggestions (my credit card information is correct),
