Android PDA?

Do those things actually exists or do you have to get a smart phone to get Android to use the Nook for Android app?

I don't need a smart phone. I have a cell phone for emergencies only and that's just fine with me.

I would like something phone-sized to read ebooks on when I only use my small purse.

If there is no such thing does anyone know if I could use a cheap smart phone without having to get a service contract to just use my  computer to download the Nook app and Nook books?

Thank you.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to just get a basic Nook? Only $79, and easily fits in most purses.

Re: Android PDA?

Thanks for the suggestion but I'm looking for something smaller than the eink nook. I have the Simple Touch (and a Glow Simple Touch on order). Just too big for my favoite smaller purse, darn.

At a break at an all day meeting recently saw someone with their phone. Thought that would be the perfect size for some reading while I had the time.

I had a Palm Vx a long, long while back. Loved it and had palm format books on it. I cried when I dropped my Palm by accident. Of couse that's when my eyes could read smaller print easly...

Re: Android PDA?

Sorry PDA are a thing of the past. If I understand you correctly you have 2 options. First you can buy an iPod touch. Then you can download the nook app and read away. The second thing you could do is buy a cheap used smartphone on eBay and use that as a PDA type device. Just make sure it has wifi. Hope this helps.
