Questions from a new Android user

Sorry if these have come up before, but didn't manage to find the answers via a search of the boards.

1) How do I get the page I'm on to sync between my NST and my phone's app? I know I'll have to have had my wi-fi on and checked for new content/synced as an interim step, but what other settings (if any) do I have to have checked?

2) I assume if I archive on one it will archive on the other. Is there an easy workaround this? I don't want to jam up my phone with my big library.

These probably seem like silly questions from an experienced user, but I'm new to the app and it doesn't have things in the same place or configuration as the NST.

Thanks all!

Re: Questions from a new Android user

Haven't played with this in awhile, but will give it a go.  If remember correctly, works something like this:

* Install Nook App on phone.  It will require you to log in.  Once you've logged in and downloaded needed books, you don't have to stay "connected" via 3G or WiFi to read.  You should still have access to previously downloaded books.  But if you log out of your B&N account, you have to redownload any books.  (This is how it used to work anyway, but it's been awhile.)

* When you log in to NookApp on phone, you have to choose what books to download.  So just download the one you are reading.  I don't think it downloads your entire library unless you press the DOWNLOAD button for all your books.

* Don't know if sync has improved or not. Say you are reading on your NST in the am, and want to continue on your phone during the day.  Before you set your NST down, you need to go to LIBRARY, and then SYNC (upper right corner, two arrows in shape of circle.)  Then you go to your phone, open up the Nookapp (make sure you have an internet connection), go to your library there and sync again.  Theoretically, you should be at the same place.   I think I saw some posts that it syncs ok from Nook to NookApp(phone), but doesn't sync as well from NookApp to NST.

* If you archive on one, yes it will be "archived" on the other device/app.  But I think you can manage your library as you have before.

Haven't played with it lately but give this a try and see if it works.  Hope that helps.

The way that I manage this:  When the app first initializes, none of the books are downloaded, so I only download each book when I'm ready to start reading it.  When I get to the point that I have a lot downloaded, I log out of the app - this removes all the books I've downloaded from the phone.  Then I log back in and have a clean slate - my library is accessible but none of the books are downloaded.
