Side loaded EPUB does not show up in Nook My Documents section

[ Edited ]

Hi all,

Running Nook for Android, on my tablet computer. I have downloaded a file from the Internet Archives, and side loaded it in the NOOK/MyDocuments/BOOKS folder. I see it there just fine.

Now, when I launch the Nook Andoid App, the items is nowhere to be seen.

The title is "Lincoln and the Russians" and was was downloaded through the Internet Archives, from the University of Florida Collection. (I cannot seem to paste the URL to the page)

I can open the .epub through both Overdrive Media (on the tablet) and Adobe Digital Editions (on the Windows computer). However, when I try and open the file on my tablet, with the Nook software, nothing happens.

Any ideas on how to get to read the book through the Nook software vs. Overdrive? I'd rather use the former if possible.

Thanks!

Robert

I wasn't aware you could sideload with the Nook App. You might have to try another ereader app.

You don't sideload WITH the app. You sideload onto the tablet with some other method. Then you're supposed to be able to open your epub document with the Nook for Android application.

B/N's documentation even gives instructions on how you're supposed to accomplish it. Only, the doc isn't showing up.

NO, it's not some pirated book, for those that might ask. It's a free library book, available through the Internet Archive, and is free of DRM for reading.

I am having the same problem. Purchased .epub books from Baen, sideloaded them into the Nook\MyDocuments folder and can see them there when looking at the directory (when the tablet is linked to my PC via a cable). But, my Nook Library "My Files" tells me I have no files sideloaded.

I'm having the same problem. I've made some manuals for the IT department of my employer. I converted the PDF documents to .epub.

Afterward I side load them onto the content directory:

And again to the MyDocuments directory:

I've tried both individually, and both at the same time. The result is always the same after synching the library:

FIXED IT! A silly thing - a duplicated file in the MyDocuments directory. Doesn't matter if the titles are different (e.g., with a (1) on the end), it compares the contents. Delete the dup, and they all magically appear in My Files! Woohoo!

If you haven't already done so install the update to the Nook For Android app, which was released a couple of days ago. I was at the library today and all of a sudden my epub was showing up!
