OK, If any of you read the Community Room Forum this may seem like de-ja-vu.. But, I was told to try you guys with this question..
OK.. It seems very easy to do this with my nook device, It seems very easy on the software for Nook for the PC..
Now I want to move a book I got to my son's android tablet. He has the nook app on it. I have sideloaded it in two places.
Nook/ Content
Nook/ MyDocuments
I believe it is showing up through the Nook/MDocuments It shows up under My Files, but not under Books.. So should be good Right?? Wrong!! I tap on the book and it says "Could not open book at this time. Please try again later." What???
It is so easy on the PC software.. Go to "My Stuff" click on "add New Item" and browse to the downloaded epub book.. Whaa Laa..
I read on an older thread, that Nook for Android app seems to have setup like it does sideloading, but it doesn't work..
I then tried unregistering him from his personal B&N Library setup, then registering to my library. I downloaded the book. I then had my son re-register his personal library, and the book I downloaded did not stay in his area.
If the Nook can't read sideloaded data, (or I guess data downloaded from the library).. Is there a recommended android app out there that my son can load to read sideloaded epub books?

Question - are you moving the book from your nook to his android device or from nook for pc to the android device?

I tried moving it from my pc to his android device.
Then I tried just registering him to my librarary and downloading it from my B&N library.
Not sure how you hook up Nook to Android as both have their own funcky connectors rather then USB ports.

Did you download it to the pc using nook for pc, or did you copy it off the nook? There are two different naming conventions depending on how the book is obtained. Downloading using Nook for PC uses this naming convention; Title_ISDN.epub. Downloading directly from the website or to the nook uses this naming convention; ISDN_epub.V?.epub. This last is used always for direct download and sometimes direct to nook.
The file name used by nook for pc should not cause any problems other than to ask for the username and credit card number used to purchase the book. The direct download and nook name will not work in nook for android or nook for pc until the file name has been changed to remove the ".v?". I recommend changing the file name completely to Title.epub, it's simpler and helps identify the book by file name.
To make moving books easier try a DropBox account. The 2GB acct is free and that's plenty for ebooks.

I downloaded from the B&N website to a directory.. Then I use the directory and will pull it into Nook for PC.. This is the directory I also pulled from for the android.
The original name is : 9781594745133_epub.v12.epub
I changed this to something like "MissPeregrinsPeculiarChildren.v12.epub"
So what I understand you to be saying is it should work if I rename it to "MissPeregrinsPeculiarChildren.epub".

Thanks, i had to wait for my son to get home since he was out & about yesterday with his tablet.. But that did indeed work..
Don't know much about dropbox, or apps really.. I'm a NST owner.. So I am pretty basic. I will suggest it to my son though and he can look into it.
I was so close to getting a tablet myself, but then went with the NST, with the thought to get a Tablet (most likely not a Nook) next xmas.. But, I am comfortable now with the NST.. And the difficulty with my son's Tablet has me thinking I haven't missed out on much..
Not just the copying thing, but I don't know if I have overly cold hands or what.. I can tap, tap, tap, tap on a link or button with not much response, and the selections are so small, when it did finally respond 9 times out of 10 it hit the link above or below what I wanted..
I have the same problem with the NST when starting up and unlocking. The unlocking slide at the bottom of the Nook takes 3 to 5 slides (as my finger warms up with the friction) to open.. Luckily though the left/right page turns work great with a single tap, or it would be very agrevating..
Oh, well.. Thanks.. That was not intuitive!

I had the same problem sideloading BN books from my husband's NC to my PC to my Nook for Android. "Cannot open at this time..." I ended up downloading Aldiko and that seems to work just fine.

It is probably because you don't have the same Adobe account as your husband. If you each used the same user/CC info then that would not be the case, but if you have used separate user/CC info, then the accounts are not the same and that is the reason the DRM is not allowing use of that item.

Please see what I just wrote to Daisy, if your file was DRM'd on someone else's computer/eReader/Nook or other device, that is what is probably causing your error.
