Will nook EVER fix the sync issues?

I am basically at the end of my rope here. I've spent this week on the phone and email with Nook support re: sync issues between my 1st gen Nook, my Ipad, Iphone and PC. None of these sync with one another. Meantime, my husband has literally SEAMLESS syncing with his kindle and kindle apps! Nook support  basically keeps telling sorry, we are aware. But they've been aware for going on two years and nothing has been fixed. One support agent even told me syncing was NOT available on the iphone and there was no plans to add it.

What the heck B&N? Honestly this is enough of an issue that I am highly considering switching to kindle....

Unfortunately, I'm in the same boat.  Had a frustrating tech support chat session last night about this same issue and left feeling this is just not going to be a priority for them to fix.  I've read countless forum post complaining about this, tried several "tricks" that supposedly worked at some time or another, but it just doesn't seem to work with the Nook Color device.  

This is what I've experienced:  The Nook for Android app syncs just fine between devices.  The Nook color will send it's last read position to the B&N server, because the Nook for Android app will sync to the last position I read on the Nook Color.  But it will NOT retrieve the last read position from any other device.  So if I read on the Color then switch to another device all seems good.  But after reading on the other device, when I pick up the color, it's invariably where I last left it.  Very frustating because the hardware is good, it's actually a very well made device.  The syncing just doesn't work as adertised, which is a huge deal for me.

I have $15 left on a B&N gift card, so I'll buy another book or two to use that up.  If it's not fixed by the time I've finshed those books, I'm switching to a Kindle Fire.  Amazon's syncing just works, they allow you to sync books you did not purchase from them, and their e-books are almost always at most the same price and usually cheaper than B&N.  

This is not an ultimatum or anything so dramatic; I neither believe this will be fixed anytime soon, nor that B&N cares if they lose my business over this.  It's more a matter of disappointment and resignation on my part, which is sad because I really want to like this device.

Syncing Nook for Android works for you? Not me. Not with First Edition. On, off, hit sync button, don't hit it, start with Nook, start with app - doesn't matter - no syncing. Let me know what you do to get the sync to work.

B&N, you need to get off of your and patch your software if you're going to play with the big boys... I'm planning to sell my 16gb Nook Tablet on Craigslist... My Iphone sill sync, but my "Nook for PC" application has NEVER synced... One would think that a company that makes their living by catering to customers who read a lot, would want to be at the top of their game...
I will be ditching my B&N Nook and my B&N account to purchace a new Kindle tablet...
One further note... Your customer support people do not have the slightest clue about syncing... I have heard every possible BS solution from them... And none of them work...

Here is the thing people, you can say that something does not work and that is great.  But if you don't tell BN what is and is not happening, they cannot fix it.  It could be that you have a software conflict on one of your devices that is causing the issue.  But if you don't tell BN what you have running at the same time, how do they fix it?  I have worked with software since the early 80s and 99% of the time when someone says "hey, this does not work!" it is caused by a software conflict.

The boards here are for USERS to assist each other, if you want to submit a bug report, you should contact Technical Support.  I can almost guarantee that the Devs don't read the boards here.  They are too busy writing code to look for folks who are having issues.  That is what Technical Support is for.

Well, as I have stated before...   If you are using 3 different devices to read your nook e-books, AND, they are all 3 connected to the internet, then one would think that the B&N server would know what the last page read was.....   This is not a hard concept to grasp.   It is a simple programming concept..

As far as B&N tech support is concerned, I have talked to them on more than one occasion about this problem...   Each different person that you talk to will give you a different answer, including a lot of "have you tried this?"...     Apparently, B&N isn't busy working on this problem as you state...   

Just for the record,  the IPhone nook app always syncs properly...  It's the Nook for PC app that has never worked..

Have you ever considered that your experience is atypical. I only know of my own and a few friends experences, none f who have had problems. This doesn't prove there aren't widespread problems. A few people posting in a forum doesn't prove there are. Perhaps a lttle less vitriol is in order. You are unlikely to get much out of customer service if you call with a big chip on your shoulder.

My devices have never synced when I needed them to.  They do sync, or attempt to sync, ocasionally, but when it really matters it's a safe bet it's not gonna happen.
