Nook Apps should have a Free Friday as well

I hope I'm not sounding greedy or ungrateful but I think that NC & NT should offer a free app on Fridays. I mean Amazon their competition does everyday. They offer an app that usually costs a lot of money free for one day, everyday. I know this would be too much for B&N who I do love, but they could offer one a week. I mean right under the Free book, which I also love and live for, they could have the free app then the recommended book.  Just a an idea.

I would LOVE to try out apps before buying them - I think B&N should make a handful of apps free to try once a month. I'd buy more and be making smarter decisions =)

They could start by offering a weekly free app that should have been free in the first place... I'm thinking Words with Friends, a calculator, stuff nobody else charges for except B&N.

The Apps sold through BN aren't ad based, so the only way for the developers to make any money is to charge for them.  The Apps sold through the Android market have ads in them so they're not really free, they're just paid for another way.

i would much rather pay a couple of bucks than have ads on my apps.

i love FREE..but if it costs a little bit to be "adFREE"..i am totally okay with that!

I agree. I've spent more on Market apps in recent years than I've ever spend in my 30+ years of computing. However, many quality apps are free and NOT ad-sponsored. Unfortunately, those aren't likely to wind up in the B&N store either, as they won't make money off them.

I think that is a stellar idea!!  Hopefully they'll consider it, considering the Kindle Fire has access to Amazon's marketplace and it offers a free app a day.  I would be very content with one a week, especially if the cycled it and offerred other apps besides games.

I would like to jump on board with this suggestion as well.  I would to be able to get a free app on Fridays or even be able to try an app out before purchase.  I mean I know there are reviews but not always and sometimes 2 or 3 will like the app & 1 will not then you purchase the app and find out  that you agree with the one that doesn't.  Ugh!  There should be at least  a 1 day trial before purchase.
