Cant download pdf file on NC from Yahoo Mail

My nook color will not let me download a pdf file from yahoo mail. It says unknown, download unsuccesful. Anyone got any ideas

Have you tried downloading it to your computer, and sideloading it to your NC?

Haha yeah that is not the point though. Thank you, but I was looking for a way to download straight off the NC

I have downloaded pdfs, but not from mail.yahoo.com.  Might have to try that.

Perhaps it (yahoo) is treating you like a cell phone... if you're using the mobile site, many features are not functional.  click on the full site link.

The only place I've had success in downloading a non-B&N book directly to the nook is at Google Books. But then, Google is the boss of the Android operating system.

I guess it's not clear what you mean by download a book... pdfs as attachments are stored in the downloads folder and can be accessed only via "My FIles";  of course, you can move them via USB connection to another folder as the download list gets full and does not scroll.

If you have further questions, let me know and I can set up a simple download test for you.

 I haven't been able to download documents from Yahoo mail either.    The NC has a google mail app installed, they need to put  the yahoo email ap as well wiith the next sofware update.

I've downloaded epubs and pdfs directly to the NC from Gutenberg, epubbooks, and Closed Circle.

They tend to go into "My Downloads,"  but if I clear the download list before I move them to another folder, they disappear!    Grrrrrrrr!   Even though when you clear the list, it says they will cleared only from cache!

THAT needs to be fixed.

Hi,

I just got my nc and every time I try to download a pdf it says download unsuccessful. It isn't from yahoo it is from a regular site.  Do I need to download anything to go along with it? Thanks ahead of time and sorry if this is a stupid question.

The nookcolor -out of the box- is an ereader.  It is not a working computer than you can manipulate documents on or download with.  Hence the price aspect.

     It is not made to download attachments from your mail or from the web.

How are you accessing Yahoo mail ? 

via the normal/full website - webmail -

or the mobile version

or via POP/IMAP ?

BTW - just tried a normal webpage with a PDF file

click on PDF

lower left corner of NC shows animated down arrows.... ie downloading

after they stop - click on them

shows "notifications" which include downloaded PDF file

click on it

given option to choose between - Reader vs Quickoffice

next.... to try Yahoo webmail and a PDF

hmmm - just tested with Yahoo webmail -

I opened the email message.

there is a PDF attached

click on it - and Yahoo sends it thru Norton,

and there is a hotlink for "Download File"

Click on that hotlink - and nada -

hard to tell what happens - but the NC bottom left corner doesn't show the "download arrows".

NEXT - tried my normal POP account and the NC email app -

I see the email, with the paperclip attachment

click to open email - it appears with the PDF -

shows the attachment, along with the "open" button -

click and works with either Reader or Quickoffice

SO - works ok with email app - but not Yahoo Webmail -

also, just tested with Gamil - and SAME PROBLEM...

BUT - it appears related to a "download" scenario vs a "view" scenario.

ie - the difference is the usual pop-up dialog box for SAVE vs OPEN

and the Nook Color maybe can't display that popup

and therefore the Nook Color can't "download" the file....
