DONT HIT THE SYNCH BUTTON ON APPS MENU

It doesn't stop trying to update, it disconnects upout wifi and does all manner of wierd things. I've learned the hard way after 2 resets.......

I haven't had any problems with it disconnecting my wifi. but it's syncing like crazy.

But I have to say I probably would have never ever hit that synch if you hadn't said something about it.

Does anyone know what the purpose of the sync is for when it works correctly?

Proably keeps "the cloud" and your Nook Color synced especially if it doesn't happen automatically.

It looks for updates for the apps, and if there are any, gives you the option of downloading them.

Clicking on the sync hasn't caused any problems here at all.

It's actually a "Check for app updates" button.  If you tap on it, it will go out to the cloud and check to see if any of your apps have updates available, and then offer you the ability to update your apps.

Very few of the apps have updates right now.  I think just the "Irredeemable" graphic novels because of a problem with the installation packages.

Tech support finally fix the synch button issue after dealing with them for 3 days. Give them a call.

The basic solitaire has an update. I didn't have any problems getting it.

My sync is working perfect. The update for goodreads came up and downloaded quickly.

Thanks for the update on the update Purdy!   I haven't won a single game of Solitaire since I bought it, maybe now with the update I'll have better luck.

ezPDF reader had an update when I synced. No problems. Very fast.

If there are not updates, then the sync function does not end. If there is a an updated, you will see the update be offered the chance to update the app(s).

That used to be the issue I had but now the update window pops up after about a minute saying that all the apps are up to date.

Great, thanks! I hadn't clicked on the sync button because I had previously gotten the spinning arrows forever, always had to power off to get them to stop spinning. Just clicked it, available updates popped up and I have now updated ezPDF Reader. Thanks for the info!

Speaking of updates, the calculator app had an update that supposedly fixes the multiplying with decimals issue.

Have the same problem also . I updated just fine on a couple apps I have . I later touch the app sync by mistake when going to browse for apps and it kept going until I had to shut down .. hope they fix this soon ...
