Do You Think the Charms Will Come Down in Price?

I have a hunch that the charms may come down in price.  I think the current $9.95 price is too steep and the demand is not there.  I think the price should be cut in half.  Anyway, that's just my opinion.

Well, the description says they are not to be used as a handle or strap. So I can't figure out what the point of having a $10 strip of leather-like material on a shiny piece of string would accomplish.

Exactly.  I don't get it either.  I could maybe understand some kind of little beads or cutesy charms.  They'd still be useless but at least they'd be cute.

But a strap that isn't really a strap is just weird to me.

I agree - I might buy my NC a few kicky accessories if they looked cool, but the ones BN are currently offering are pretty lame.  If you're going to be useless, at least be cute!  (yes it is my life motto)

Agreed.

If I was going to dangle something off my NC, it'd be something like this:

Now you can all have a good laugh at me.  I was going to attach a lanyard to my NC so that when I fall asleep reading it will not drop to the floor or become damaged.  That at least has a practical application like "idiot mittens" when we were kids.  That really shows my age doesn't it!!

That's actually a good idea!  I gotta think of a cute design for that!

LadyKara:  Not laughing at all.  I use an old and FREE badge lanyard for my "charm" around my wrist if I'm reading in bed.  Not going to risk a drop in case my book is boring and I doze off. Camera lanyards work fine too if you don't mind butt ugly and free.

Since you can't give the nook color a name like you can the e-ink nooks, I've thought about making a charm using those baby name beads to give it a name.

I made my own. When I got my Oberon cover, they sent me a pewter charm to match (a dragon to match the red sky dragon I bought) so I added a few colored Swarovsky crystal beads on a silver chain and Voila! Something much prettier and more my style.
