I'm curious if only a certain region is having audio problems.
I have never had any of these major problems I am hearing people talk about.
Everything worked perfectly out of the box. I got mine for Christmas (12/25/2010), but I know it was purchased about 2-3 weeks prior to Christmas and arrived already fully charged and ready to go right out of the box, watch the welcome video and the audio was loud I didn't even have the volume all the way up, connected to my wifi, registered, synced with my existing online account, I bought more books with my gift card and it billed correctly and they download immediately, posted to facebook fast, send a quote via email fine, surf the web fine, view & post to this forum fine, listen to Pandora radio and most songs are loud enough that it is only at 75% volume as I walk around the room, the only thing I've gotten from the updates is new GUI views that I can tell. I really feel bad for everyone having issues. I'd just take it back until I got one that worked.
I'm so thrilled with my experience that I wish it was everyone's experience. I surely wouldn't trade it for some of the experiences I've heard about. Some of these communicated experiences just make me appreciate the wonderful experience I have had.

Yes, the two children's books. It was very discouraging to have the NC fail with that pre-loaded content. If even the demo didn't work... Anyway, very happy now that I finally got a working NC. Now I can listen to Pandora while I read.
