Drop Box Images - Where are they Filed on Nook or are they?

I tried out the Drop Box today with an image which I wanted to use for Wallpaper.  I moved it to the drop box file on my computer and then used the drop box app and it asked where to I want to Export it - and it gave me the choice of either SD File or My Media.  I selected My Media and my file was there - perfect!  But now, my question is when it exports the file - where do you locate it?  I went to My Stuff/My Files and looked at each and every file and could not locate this file.  So my question is - is the file really stored on the Nook or it is only stored at Drop Box?

Have not seen the "export" option.  However, on DropBox long press the item you want.  A dialog box opens with one choice being "copy".  Select it then navigate to the folder you want the image to be in and "paste" it there.  I am assuming you have a file manager on your Nook.

Second thought; your image may be in "down loads"

[ Edited ]

I cannot find the image anywhere.  I went into every file and it is not there.  I just downloaded the latest version of Drop Box for PC's and the only option it gives is either to export to My Media or save on SD.  There was no copy or paste in the Nook - although I can copy and paste or move to the DropBox File on my computer.  I also noticed there is no Drop Box File on my Nook where the My Stuff files are.  At first I thought maybe this is just a copy showing up from the internet.  I turned off the Wifi option and rebooted the Nook and still saw my image but could not locate a file.  This image may be a "ghost" image - meaning that although I see it - it may be just a residual file left over.

Are you trying to send the image from the PC application to your Nook? If so, try opening the Nook app, and long-pressing on the image name from within there.  You should be given the option to export to your Gallery on your NC, and from there can set the image as wallpaper.  HTH.

Re: Drop Box Images - Where are they Filed on Nook or are they?

I got intrigued by this, so I tried it a couple of times with and without my sd card inserted. I couldn't find the downloaded files in the Library anywhere, just as you couldn't.  For a while I thought they were in the hidden partition where the books and apps are loaded.

But, I did find them.  They are in the NC's internal memory accessible via a file manager (connected to your PC or Quick Office Pro's browser, for example).  They are in the following path in the root: Android>data>com.dropbox.android>files>scratch>Files

I deleted one of the jpg files from that folder and the pciture disappeared from the My Media app and the Photo Gallery in the Set Wallpaper setting.

WOW - that is amazing and great detective work.  Who would have thought files that got uploaded this way would be somewhere so unaccessible.  Thank you!

This is why I purchased Drop2Sync so I control where documents, PDFs, video and images are stored on internal or SD storage.
