Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Re: For those of you with IPAD along with your NC....

I would have had one today if Apple believed in instant gratification. But alas. You must order one to satisfy that urge. So now i am hopeful the NC update will happen tomorrow and distract me. Otherwise i see an order monday or tuesday.

Triggerone, I also tried to convince myself that my NC would "do it all" after the update - until I stopped to play with the iPad demo at Best Buy last week. Only took me about 15 minutes to know I definitely had to have BOTH. Was nearly deterred by the fact that they had none in stock, but made a couple phone calls when I got home and an hour later I had my iPad! Felt a little (Ok, maybe a lot) guilty for a day or so, but was quickly reassured by my fellow NC owners that I definitely wasn't alone. Totally love both, AND, I can play Angry birds while I wait for the NC update!

I also have a rotating stand for my iPad that sits on my kitchen counter. I have a wireless keyboard that is great for when my daughter wants to do her homework in the kitchen while im making dinner. (our shared computer is upstairs). When she isn't using it, it is either acting as a digital picture frame or it is playing Pandora. Did i mention the speakers are awesome? Still wouldnt give up my NC though. Nothing like pulling that baby out of my purse foor a good read while in line at the dmv, school pickup lot, Jiffy Lube etc....

And that, I guess, is the primary reason for owning the NC. Sure, the iPad is a really great device, but it's just not as portable as the NOOK. Now, if Apple ever comes out with a 7" iPad, then we are in trouble! lol
