Since 1997, you’ve been coming to to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Re: Help Deciding

I had reservations about buying an ereader and was undecided for a while. I had taled to a lot of people about getting an ereader, had not decided on which one to get. I talked to my best friend on the phone and we were both trying to decide which ereader to buy.... narrrowed it down to the nook. We had pretty much talked each other into buying the classic, couldn't justify spending $100 more for the color. We were excited that we would be able to lend books to each other (both aware of the limitations).

Then, one day hubby and I were in Best Buy. He wanted a new monitor and I was "playing" around with the ereaders (they had the Kindle, Nook Classic, NookColor, Sony and one or two more) trying to decide which way to go. Hubby was messing around with them and he was sold on the NookColor. I was not so sure yet. I  got frustrated with myself not being able to make a decision, left the ereader area. Eventually, I made my way back to the ereaders (they were calling my name LOL) and picked up a NookColor to look at the box. Right then & there and could hear my dad saying one of his favorites "you either s%^& or get off the pot" :smileyvery-happy: I bought the NookColor.

I have not regretted buying it! I love it! I usually have a hard time speding money on myself, espically when I know I could buy something for the family to share or save for one of the kiddos b-days. The NC is mine all mine and I DO NOT feel guilty about buying it. I do have to admit that I share with the 4 yrd old but that's only when he is sitting on my lap and after bath time. :smileywink:
