Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Help with my NC

The last few days my NC has been acting strange, seems to load books slower and then 1 nite the battery icon started showing it was charging without the charger on it. Tonite I went to download a book and the refresh icon is circling but not updating my library. I've tried shutting to down but when it comes back on the icon is still circling and still refreshed library

Re: Help with my NC

B&N's tech support phone number is on B&N's main website under Nookcolor support.

Let us know how trying to solve your problem with B&N support works out.

BTW when you call, you have about a 95% chance of connecting with B&N's offshore support in the P.I. you can ask to be switched to USA support person, it is B&N's policy if you request this they have to transfer you to B&N's USA based support.  Note that USA support is on the east coast, so rem the time zones.

If the sync icon was still spinning chances are pretty good that you only put it into standby and didn't do a complete power off cycle. Plug it into the charger and let it charge for a hour or two. Then hold down the power button until it goes past the prompt asking if you want to turn it off. Then power it back on.
